I've never played one of these mafia games. I don't really know anybody on the board and how they play in such games. I haven't been able to discern anything from anyones post game related. And the voting has been all over the place. So, I don't think Phoc is scummier than anyone else. This was purely a vote from spite, since I have no other reason to vote for anyone else.

I would find it odd for Mafia to draw such a big target on its back but that could be its own strategy.

That's completely fine, I just want to point out after all of that ((kind of round about)) it might be dangerous to vote in spite.

I guess what I am getting at is, get behind the motive, not the emotion.

So for example:
PhocQ's motive if he is innocent for posting a slightly jerky post or comments
would be to bring to light that inactivity is bad.
would also be to stir up conversation and get more content to analyse
bring people around who normally havent' been posting.

PhocQ's motive for being scum
would be to bring in confusion,
emotional voting
and bring to light that other peoples spiteful votes, can be looked at as scummy.


Currently my vote was on PhocQ, but I noticed that Kyle moved to PhocQ without a word. He excused himself because he has been busy, while I can appreciate that, a small reason would have been nice.

Pete also jumped onto PhocQ in a spiteful vote. Now that emotion is reasonable for Pete, just knowing him slightly.

Scum could have easily jumped in there on the PhocQ bandwagon and used the excuse, he was posting meanly.

At the very basic of this game is getting behind the reason and motive without including the emotion.

Mafia's job is to blend, confuse, rile and agitate, lie and do what it is to end up on top

Town's job is to uncover tactics of mafia, are they trying to blend by posting, are they trying to confuse town by posting, are they riling and agitating for their win condition.

And yet the mafia hasn't jumped on because Phoc = 2 votes and mafia = 3 votes. Could this be an indication that mafia is staying off that badwagon because phoc is mafia?

Currently I feel that PhocQ's points ring true, and putting all that aside.

I feel that his post came across townie, now it doesn't mean that I am going to dismiss the posibility of the scum side of the posts.

However, I think genuinly speaking, if a host brings games to the board, a small attempt should be made to post once a day or even every other day or at least once during the whole week.

On the flip side of that though, newer people may not know what to question, how to question or feel if they do speak up, they might fear getting the third degree.

well why do they feel this way? is it because it is something personal to them that they feel they cannot defend themselves or articulate themselves properly? If that is the case, then that skill needs to be learnt, or at least embraced or attempted.

It could very well be, and that, needs to be questioned.

That's why you just have to embrace being wrong sometimes if indeed phocQ is mafia

debating at something that isn't readily able to be proven as correct or incorrect is a bit difficult.

that is why evidence such as voting analysis comes into play. Who people question more who people question less.

If someone comes to another persons aide, or is more friendly with another person. Is it mafia trying to blend and buddy up with a townie?

So it is those sort of things you want to be on the watch for.

After going over the first day and reading over this second day there is one person I think that we need to look at again

Dragonldy

She posted yesterday saying she didn't have much time to post and that she'd be back later to post again and yet she hasn't been back yet.

While it is definitely possible that she is just really busy, it is also possible that she isn't speaking up cause she wants everyone to forget about her and slide by. I still think her comment about Cam should be noted. She made that last round but this round has been relatively quiet.

I'm not quite sure if she is mafia but I think she needs to speak up more.

Mandie also has not posted much this round and I would definitely like to hear her thoughts on the discussion thus far.

I am voting to lynch Dragonldy because if people are tired of the inactive play then the #1 person that uses that strategy is Dragonldy. I think that is something to remember

If town are not talking, what gives me motivation to even post. Might as well just bide my time until the next night phase. Hopefully we can pull off a kill.

This is why I believe PhocQ to be town at the moment.

As a newbie to this mafia style game I've come to the (perhaps wrong) conclusion that these early stages is just a lot of guesswork. No one here is going to accidentally let slip that they just shook down a pizza parlor for protection money.
I think we need a few of rounds of voting to see where they are falling. Since the mafia cant discuss during day rounds they couldnt have had a strategy for the first vote. This second vote will be interesting to see if there is a scummy strategy being developed.

My opinion as of this moment:

I think Derb voted for me either out of frustration because I am not posting much, or he is trying to get a reaction from me to post more. I dont think he voted for me because he believes I am scum.

In my head, I have ruled out Pete and I have ruled out Stacie. I am also inclined to rule out Thian. I have analyzed their posts and have come to the conclusion that they are innocent and genuine. I dont know how to explain to yall how I have come to this conclusion. I just read things, and I analyze them. So there is my current opinion.

I have not come to any conclusions about anyone else.

if you are frustrated that I have not said much in this game I apologize.

I dont have any further observations or questions for anyone at this time.

you are correct in that mafia cannot day talk, but they are informed prior to game start who their partners are.

so while they can't talk strategy, it is best to catch them slipping up on day 1 by either avoiding questioning certain people, or not contributing, sheeping onto other peoples votes, or buddying up.

That is something you need to take into account too the subtle slips that someone "in the know" would know.

Seeing as there are 8 uninformed amongst 3 very informed people on who is guilty and who is innocent.

I am inclinded to believe that derB is town. ((going on past games)) he has been given quite a few mafia roles its about time he has come into the light of townie

PhocQ, although I haven't completely ruled him out yet, has posted a post to instigate talk and I doubt that mafia would call attention to themselves after such a long period of no talking to me this is a bit of a town light.

Pete to me is a wild card at this moment, so I can't get fully on board with ruling him out just yet. Although he stated his opinion about things getting personal, he has contributed more but was it because PhocQ called him out? that I don't know and am getting a bit shakey on.

As for stacie, I am getting a sincere unsure newish vibe to her, don't put your back to her just yet, but I can follow you along with that

and just a side note
I don't think anyone is upset or frusterated at anyone in this game other than the lack of involvement when the game with 11 people should be pretty active with that many people. Just attempt at a post or two and start fishing out things people say that you want to know more at.


so mandie im going to ask a question about stacie, what makes you rule stacie out as a suspect?

Im not sure how to explain how I have come to that conclusion. One of her posts, is completely sincere imo. And, if she were trying to hide she were scum, it would not have come off as sincere. I say that because, She is like me and I know.. myself. How else can I explain that? I dont think I can. It's just what i know.

Pete, do you think D'lady's inactivity may have played a role in why there was no mafia hit on night one? In other words do you think she is as inactive in a night role as you think she is inactive as a day role?

Or is this a vote for her BECAUSE she is inactive, not because her inactivty revealed her to be mafia?
