Mafia 2 - I Left My Heart in San Francisco - Day 1

As the dust settled in the huge meeting hall, the frightened group surveyed their scene. One handsome, well-dressed gentleman took notice of a rather comely woman trying to get to her feet. He dashed to her rescue and noticed as he helped her up that her blouse was torn, giving him a nice view of...her assets. He quickly cast his gaze up to her face and smiled. "Are you hurt?"

"Oh, no. Just shaken a bit." she replied, batting her eyelashes a bit as she did so.

Others around them were also recovering and soon the group crowded together, seeking comfort in the wreckage.

"Wow, that was a doozy!" exclaimed one bright-eyed young man. "Is everyone alright?"

Nods and murmurs swept through the group of eleven and everyone agreed there were no serious injuries among them. Feeling a bit safer, everyone looked around, sizing each other up...




"The doors are blocked!" Was the declaration from the far side of the room by the exit doors.

"But that's the only way out of here!" Came another voice. "We're trapped!"

Panicked voices ensued and a few of the men set about to check the validity of this statement. They began checking all corners of the huge room, but it was soon evident that it was true. The party of eleven was going nowhere anytime soon...


All of a sudden an ear-piercing scream rang throughout the walls of the room.


"Oh my God! They're dead! They're all dead!"


And there, in a dark corner of the great room lay the bodies of Steve Arlington, his wife Beth and their daughter, Emily. All three had been shot through the head and lay huddled together behind a buffet table.



Players, it is time for you to go to work. Here are your roles and the rules of the game:


Mafia:

Cockeyed Louie, Mafia Member
Joey the Clown, Mafia Member
Baby Face Nelson, Mafia Member

Mafia members will choose one person to kill each Night Round. All Mafia members who are alive in the game must agree and must send in the same name. This may be done by PM or IM (BuffyZanzibar), but if I do not receive your choice by the deadline, it will not count. You may change your choice anytime before the deadline but the last name you send is the one I'm going with so make sure you send correctly. You will have at least 48 hours from the time I post results of the preceding Day Round to send your choice but I will clearly post the deadline in the thread.

You may talk to each other by PM, IM, Phone, text, walkie talkie or what have you, only during the Night Rounds, but never during the Day Rounds.

Your side wins if there is an equal number of Mafia and Townspeople left at any point in the game. If all three of you are lynched; however, your side loses.



Townspeople:

Detective Harry Walker

The Detective may choose one person to investigate each Night Round. If he chooses a Mafia member to investigate, he will be told they are Mafia. If he chooses a townsperson to investigate, he will be told they are a Townie. This includes the Nurse, as she is an innocent. You may talk to no one about your role, Day or Night.


Nurse Grace Applegate

The Nurse may choose one person to save each Night Round. If she chooses a person who has been targeted by the Mafia, they will not die that Night Round. The Nurse may choose to save herself but she may not save the same person two nights in a row. This includes herself.

The Night Round deadlines apply the same to all the above roles. A name may be sent either by IM, PM, etc and you may change this name anytime up until the deadline. The last name I receive before the deadline is final. If you fail to make your choice before the deadline, you forfeit your power that Night Round so be careful!

You have no Night actions but you will vote, along with all other players during the Day Rounds.


RULES:

Deadline for Day Rounds:
Each Day Round will last 96 hours 4 days) or when a majority vote has been reached, whichever comes first. The deadlines will be spelled out clearly for you.

Votes:
A majority vote or half the remaining players + 1 is required to lynch. The first round we have 11 players so 6 is required for a lynch. The number of votes required for each Day Round will be specified at the beginning of each round and throughout the round. If a majority is reached before the deadline, the Day Round will end and no more posting is allowed. This is important. If there is a lynch and I am not around to lock the thread, please cease posting! I appreciate your cooperation. Also, if you are killed during a Night Round, you are no longer allowed to post in the game threads after your death has been posted.



Those are the roles and the rules. If I have missed anything or if you have any questions, please let me know. If you have a question specific to a role, I would suggest you ask me privately in order to protect your game identity. Please note that all roles have been assigned randomly using playing cards. Gender of roles has no bearing on players' gender. If you are a male, you may have a female role and if you are a female, you may have a male role. It is simply luck of the draw.

My favorite flavor is vanilla.

My favorite part of this game is getting to play detective and scrutinizing peoples posts and behaviors for clues to their true identities.

So I guess ill start off with questions

Can't wait to play the game with you again. Where do you think would be safest to put your vote currently, given it being so early in the game?

Boyd:
No good reason for the vote? She has an avy of Tyra. That would have been perfect.

Cam:

What makes you so sure they are random? I don't expect you to trust me in the least, not by simple request anyways. Right now we are experiencing interaction, and in that, we can learn things. Maybe not who is mafia right away, but more than you might expect. I am trying something new, something non-confrontational.

Trip was a bit faster than planned. Yay!

strawberry, always has been but I do like vanilla as well. As far as chocolate goes I like it sometimes and other times I don't lol

I'm excited to play the game with you as well Thian, I think right now its hard cause no one has posted enough so there is no details as to who may be what. I think at this time as it is the first day I say we let everyone come on and chat and scrutinize everything and figure out who is being shady and who isn't.

I don't really get a feeling of who is being shady at this time, as I feel all the posts thus far have been fairly light and not much substance thus far.

Kyle:
Percentile wise, at least one mafia hasn't posted yet. Who do you think it would be?


Mandie maybe, she is normally so outspoken and active I can only think she is laying back trying to go under the radar for a reason

Its only my second game of this type but I would say my favorite thing thus far would be just trying to solve the puzzle of who is guilty. The answers seem to always be there if you look hard enough, its a fun challenge.

This game is going to be a lot tougher than some of the others. Only 11 peeps and only 2 good roles vs 3 evil ones. i think it's needless to say that not lynching isn't really an option. lol

You're definitely right, I have always pretty much had a good role, which leads me to think you must be mafia trying to get rid of the good guys early


So I vote to lynch Phoc He flat out said "always has a GOOD role" so why on EARTH would you want to lynch someone with a GOOD role lmao
