Mafia 2 - I Left My Heart in San Francisco - Day 2

Sleeping in a dark, earthquake ravaged room scattered with strangers wasn't easy. Throughout the night there were many breaks in the silence when a distant cough was heard, or a soft shuffling as someone made their way to the water closet. Shadows made by the filtered moonlight loomed on the high walls and played with the imagination. Quiet whispers which could have been human, or could have been the rustling of bedclothes, occasionally punctuated the deafening silence. All this, as well as the events of the previous day and the uncertainty lurking in the future, made it especially difficult to rest easily when no one knew or trusted each other.

There was also the matter of the three dead bodies, which had at least been placed in a far closet, out of sight but not out of mind.

Morning finally arrived after the long night and some muted daylight began to fill the room through the small portions of the high windows which weren't blocked by debris and wreckage. One after another, people rose from their temporary beds until it was soon discovered...











































All eleven people were present and accounted for. Was this the day they would get out of this place, and had all impending danger been just an unnecessary worry? It appeared so for the time being, but there was still the three murders to contend with. A meeting was called and the group gathered again to try to make some sense of this disaster.

So did the nurse guess correctly or are we looking at another case of inactive evil roles? My guess would be another inactive Mafia member. So hopefully the mafia turn on each other like the witches did last game.

hahaha I'm curious as well what happened last night. Do we have any inactives in the game though? I dont' know Sir Boydly but he seems pretty active, and everyone else is active, so I'm going to guess that either they did a no kill on purpose, or the nurse protected someone or, does the cop prevent a no kill if he investigates the right person? Ok upon reading the roles, I don't think so, but he is told whether the person is mafia or a townsperson.

What benefit would the doctor or cop have for revealing themselves to have protected / investigated someone out right for the town, with this many people left?

The entire cast was logged on at some point during the night phase, I doubt it was inactivity. It was probably either miscommunication or disagreement, or willingly not killing. I can't imagine a situation where they wouldn't be able to agree on who to kill, and lose the initiative in being the first to have absolute control over who stays and goes. OR, we have a clever doctor on our hands.

So I am betting they purposely did a no kill, or our doctor is one smart cookie.

ON THE NO KILL:
From my point of view, this tells me they either want me to pursue the same people, since I am wrong, or they are hoping I guessed at that and will go after somebody else. Beyond that it gets redundant. So for me, I have to try and decipher why they would opt to take no action.

If my fellow innocents take this statement an apply it to yourselves, you will find it to be to be true as well.

Therefore, either the majority of us was off enough they want us to keep going after our own in error, or they want us to think that way and leave them alone, hoping we go off in another direction.

ON THE DOC:
Bravo. Without the good doctor coming forward, this one will be tough to figure out, as the probable situations far outnumber a 3:8 shot of guessing a mafia member. So unless the real doctor stands up, I think trying to discuss the matter is a moot point, and in all reality, them stepping forward will only give us who the mafia potentially tried to kill. It won't tell us specifically they went after that person. So if you ask me, doctor stay low.

Well I can't be certain of what happened, but if the doctor is the reason there was no kill, then I am glad and impressed they were able to protect the right person.

I was merely thinking out loud, weighing out all potential situations that I could think of that would result in a no-kill.

Obviously this story is fictional but I just wanted to say that I don't
want to make light of the devastating effects of a real life earthquake.
My thoughts are with the people of Japan today.

Perhaps we can surmise jsut because someone logs into the website, does not necessarily mean they logged in, to play mafia.

If that is the case, I can definately look at voting for some inactives from first round.

I'm confused as to why this is happening every single game. No kill during the first day and no kill at night. It makes me just not know what to think about the events of the first day and why this is playing out like this. I'm gonna reread the first day over in a little and try and see if I can see where people may be coming from.

I have noticed that as well, that there have been an awful lot of no kills on night one lately. It's getting tiresome baddies, pick up the pace, get with the program.

I don't really see what the Mafia would have to gain by not killing anyone. There is no investigators or trackers or anything in this game so they don't have to worry about their actions being followed. To me it would be letting one slip by especially since we didn't lynch anyone during the day.

So either they screwed up or were blocked by the nurse. I think it's 60/40 in favour of them screwing up. I wouldn't have said that in the past but given how things have gone in past few games, it's more than likely a screw up.

Good news is that the good guys have the advantage now. We will have 2 days worth of posts and votes to analyze before the first person gets killed. Only problem is people aren't really saying much.

If the Mafia indeed screwed up, then maybe we shouldnt' be targeting inactive players. I would want to steer clear of voting out the person who is keeping them from killing us. But at the same time it drives me nuts when people don't care and just vote however. So that makes it tough. lol

I don't know what to think so I'm not going to.

Sorry I havent been as talkative the last few days. I live down here in ACC country.. so yesterday,today and the rest of the weekend are big for college basketball. Once tonights remaining games have ended Ill go over everything and attempt to make some observations.

I've been busy and 'm still considering what to do. I be back later after I read over things.

wow PhocQ, wow. Some of your questions were downright rude. Telling Boyd that he adds nothing to the game, asking Cam if he would have added anything useful if he wasn't busy. I just don't see either of those questions as necessary and just rude. I think after this game I'm done playing in any games that you join, cause you ruin the fun of these games for people.

as to answer your question, I don't feel like I was defensive last round, I just feel like people read into things I posted wrong and tried to explain them. Read into it as you will, I don't care but from this point forward I won't pay attention to anything you say cause you take things too far.
