Season 5 - Werewolf - Day 1

Journal Log Day 1.

I have started to write a journal of my stay amongst the villagers of The Eternal Caverns. I hope to gain a better understanding on how they survive the trials and tribulations of making their village survive the test of time.

I have brought along my camera incase I do capture anything of interest. For now, i have been wandering the caves and taking in the scenery. I will admit to this much. There is more to my stay than I should let on right now, I am happy to report that the villagers have taken me in so readily. I must go for now, it seems I am to be introduced to the elders of the village.


I have just got back from the meeting of the Elders, they all had greeted me with kindness as well. A few more friendlier than others, but it could just be that I might have crossed paths with some of them before.

It appears with how well the village is run, there has been mistrust amongst the elders for the past year or so. They have all talked about supplies missing that are essential for maintaining the villagers safety. They have now been speaking of holding daily meetings and I dread the outcome of the first one. The village elders have decided to begin lynching themselves to eliminate the traders amongst the group. I believe they all agreed it was for the good of the village to rid the evil that lurked within. If a sacrafice must be made then so be it for the good of the village.

They had advised that I am not to attend any of the meetings but I am sure they will come forth with information in their own time as to what went on behind those walls. I have been instructed to document the nightly activities of the village and report back of any strange occurances. I pray that what ever happens to these elders, that order return to the village soon.

The GraveYard

Welcome to The Eternal Caverns everyone, new comers, glad you could join us. This is the elders first meeting. I will breifly describe what is to occur.

Your job as a group, is to figure out who amongst you are the werewolves and sorcerer.
Question and Debate and then vote on who you believe is to be lynched.

A Lynch is immediate.
A Lynch occurs when half of the village, PLUS 1 have put a vote on a single person.
A vote can always be changed up until the vote that causes a lynch occurs.
Bold your votes and/or colour them. Sometimes I miss.
A deadline of 5 to 6 days will be in place. It is not much time so use it wisely.
The village can decide at any time to lynch someone before deadline. You do not have to
wait the full 5 or 6 days to come to an agreement.
If the deadline approaches and the village cannot agree. No one will be lynched.
Village win condition: All threats to the village are eliminated
Werewolf/Sorcerer win condition: you have brought the village down to 50 percent bad guys to 50 percent good guys.

I can't stress this enough. When you are dead. Do not post anymore. You are out of the game. it isn't because we don't like you, you just might give something away that shouldn't be given away. You will be welcomed back during the reunion thread AS Always, and will play a part in picking MVP and VP awards. D'awh my favorite part! you guys work so well, its my love back to you all.

Be a good sport. Name calling that is out of context of what the game should be should not be used. Debate of course, get heated of course just be reasonable. Do not take it personal if you feel singled out. I'll be your shoulder to cry on in pvt. Come to me, i don't bite.

Any questions from this point on should be pvt'd directly to me. Mechanic's of game play discussion may give away your role. so try to avoid this.

Actions that i may take should not be taken into account of peoples roles. All roles are handed out seperately, randomly and by cards I have. Do not try to out guess the host. I am a very tricky man and may fool you once or twice to keep this game on its toes.

All journal logs are of my own mind and creation and do not reflect the character of the person online or offline. It is there for entertainment purposes.

I will not be placing any more clues for you on which roles are left, since night time roles are not to be revealed this game. However, you do have this chart to go on.

So I take it we don't want to determine this first lynch based on a game where we protect one another until one person's left unprotected like we half-did last game?

Any ideas what we should do?

Nope not yet, as always the first lynch is always the hardest cause we have 0 to go on. (and im stating the obvious). lol

Yeah, I agree with that logic. It helps to have everyone as active as possible so we have plenty of information gathered to make the best decisions down the road. When someone isn't that active, it's difficult to determine anything about them.

Yep, I feel the same way. Basically, unless you have something to go on, it makes sense to look at the least active or the people who contribute the least. I know it's a sore spot for some but even if you make a mistake at least you didn't remove someone who could have helped you in the end.

The problem is figuring out who that would be, I guess. No one wants to be the first to point fingers, lol.

I do like the new voting format, though. At least if we come to a decision quickly it ends the day session but we still have time if we need it.

On the flip side though, active players are more likely to be wolves since they have a role and are excited about it.

I think that we should look at who has been least active over the last game, that way we give the people who are new a chance to play and take out someone who hasn't been as active.

also, Cam, I wouldn't necessarily agree with that as last game neither Mandie nor Termy were that active and they were the wolves, just a thought

Oh that's true Pete, and I was thinking that. I suppose it really depends on the person and what type of strategy they want to use.

Yeah, it's all luck who gets what role, so who knows if the wolves are the more active or less active players. I mentioned this last game, but I think the ideal wolf strategy would be to try to separate themselves so that one would be active and contributing frequently and the other would be more under the radar, but who knows. Either strategy could be used. I just think it helps to eliminate the least active players because they'll be less helpful as far as finding wolves down the road.

I hate to bring names up myself, but someone has to do it if we're going to find a united target to lynch this round. If we're going to go with least active, I think we should have some kind of system to make it fair. Maybe we could come up with several candidates for the least active player based on previous games, compare it to their activeness so far in this game, and then discuss between the two top candidates based on that criteria or something like that.

Hey everyone!! I brought pie, lets have a party before having to get all accusing on each other!

But anyway I think its tough to determine what role someone is by their activeness.. they could change how they are acting or keep the same even if they are a different role. This game has too many ways to view it to really base it on activeness.

But I do not think we should use past games to base off of this game, some of us could potentially have different roles this game, so that is not really fair to base past games in this one.

This game is the total opposite to the last one. lol Last time nobody wanted to say anything about lynching and this time everyone is all gung ho and stuff. Was my cheesy game really that bad?

If we are going to base our vote on who has been active in the past then we should look closely and Michael. I swear that guy did sweet-funk-all last game.

But really, I do agree that if someone doesn't talk then they aren't of much use to sniffing out the wolves and won't make great food for the wolves. So really not much point in keeping them around.

I agree that we shouldn't let past games influence this one. That just seems unfair to me.

The only thing though, is the new players might not want to talk much at first. I know my first time playing this type of game I had no idea what I was doing and I would just read and vote lol Now I realize if I don't talk I'll be targetted. BUT then some people who talk too much get targetted as well lmfao It's a lose lose situation. The first Lynching is always difficult when we have nothing to go on.

So far we've established for this first lynch:
- Some people want activeness/contribution levels to be the deciding factor. Others don't.
- Some people want to use past games to help determine activeness/contribution levels. Others don't.

The one thing I completely agree on is that I'm against lynching any first timers this early, unless they just completely disappear or do something incredibly suspicious.

I think we should lynch anyone who's Team Jacob.

I think that the only thing from past games that should even be looked at is how active people were, at least only for this first vote.

When I was a wolf it was easy for me to lay low. Thats what Im going to be looking at.

I agree with this. I'm not for using past stuff against people but if they are usually quiet in games and are still quiet in this game, are they really going to be of help? Also, I am for not going after new people. At least for this round, lol.

I don't really play this game very well, so I have no idea what to base my first vote on. Activeness might be a good criteria. But some people might not know the game has started yet.

Hello there villagers.

First of all Brant, thank you for you avatar.

Now, as for what has been said her so far, I agree that new people deserve a chance. I also think however it's not a good idea to cancel anyone out of the vote at any point in this game when we all have equal chance of being it right now, and reinterpretting thing can change ideas about people. I try to stay very open minded with that stuff.

I think at this point however, it may be best to go after people who aren't active, because Jackie's point is true. It is better to lynch people who definitely won't help, than to keep people who definitely won't. I encourage all villagers to be active for that reason people! After weeding out, THEN we can really get the active wolves, and we can also get those who are laying low that are wolves more easily, because like Mandie said, we can't make it easy for people.
