Season 5 - Werewolf - Day 2

Journal Log Day 2


I could not sleep last night. Something about Bryan's death was unsettling. The Elders seemed to have remorse. Others held contempt. The villagers were very unsettled and most had not moved during the morning. I must ask the Elders one day about that glow in the room when Bryan's body had disappeared.



On another note, it was my duty to report the findings of the night to the Elders. I took this job on with pride, but soon became fearful as the villagers expressed that there has been something lurking in the caves. People would go missing.

Taking my camera and note pad, I set for the night. I am unsure of the figures in this cave that move around in the dark. My eyes are not adjusted to seeing in such dim light. I can only make out shadows. I have found a spot over looking most of the village and sat down to begin watching.

Moments before day break I saw a figure moving quickly along the streets. Following closely behind, this figure had worn a robe. The figure stopped in front of one of the home entrances. Quietly I knelt down to hear of anything. I began to hear a chant escape their lips. A brief silence and then a barely audible curse word. "Not this one....." They escaped again before I could stand up.


Returning back to my spot, I began to write again. It has been a little while now and the sun is just beginning to rise. I saw two figures lurking the streets. Animals, snarls. Hiding behind some rocks, I had closed my eyes and prayed it would be over. Then, a loud terrifying scream.

The elders had gathered this morning during the day, and another was lost. Pete had not been present. I had remembered this man had been one to shake my hand and welcome me into the doors.

It is time now for the elders to begin their meeting. Again I have been ushered out quickly so they can discuss.

Oy, gosh I hope Pete wasn't someone important, no offence Pete lol

Oh no Pete!! I think he was lynched because he was very outspoken last round. Also, boo, we lynched a villager. We already knew that though. But it still sucks.

It's hard to tell if the people pushing for Bryan's lynch last round were trying to guess a wolf with what little the first round offers, or if they were pushing because 1 or more among them were wolves themselves and wanted to lynch him for the obvious reason that he wasn't a wolf/sorc.

It is very possible that the people making the most sense last round could be wolves. Just throwing that out there if anyone is able to build on that theory. I cannot because I'm a dummy when it comes to this game.

I feel like I've had a muzzle on for the past few days. It also makes me feel paranoid like I'm locked in my room by myself, curled up in the furthest corner from the window. lol

Sorry to see you go, Pete. And thanks for not being a wolf, Bryan or I would been lynched next for being the only one not to vote you. lol

I should go back and reread some things from the other thread to see if there is anything to be learned, but I probably won't. lol I do however think we should start voting for someone early so not only can we see what they have to say but give them a chance to plead their case before Thian lights the fire. Last round once the ball started rolling on Bryan it was no time before there were enough votes to lynch. Maybe we moved too quickly last round.

I'm a dummy a lot too.

Regardless if we're a little in the hole right now people, we do know that some stuff happened that was interesting. It seems to me that they could have easily went after someone on that "safe" list. The fact they didn't tells me one of two things.

A. They wanted people to suspect the people on the safelist, and the people agreeing on it, and then have people suspect that maybe those people are wolves. So they wanted to keep that in the game and not disturb it too much. Orr..

B. The wolves or at least one or something are on the safe list, and they didn't want to start on the safe list, and then abruptly not attack people on the safe list.

So yeah, that's all possible.
Kinda like Cam, those are two of my foundations. Anyone wanna build off?

I saw the results and was about to post the same two ideas that Deetster came up with, except I'd have used numbers rather than letters for the two points.

With about 36 hours left before the lynch, I was one of the people trying to get the ball rolling towards picking a name because there seemed to be some opposition towards the pro-lynching idea, some people had weekend plans, and I wasn't sure how long it would take to gather the votes or even IF we could gather the votes. Interestingly, Pete was one of the people trying to get the vote going also...and he was killed. So I'm not sure what that means. But I wasn't expecting a majority to be reached that quickly. Looking in retrospect, I still think that a first round lynch was a good idea, but I wish we'd have been able to get some more information.

Perhaps if we had picked Bryan and Termy (or other possibles wolves) a day or so sooner as the two targets and given them time to defend themselves and contribute their insight with plenty of time to vote afterward, that would have worked better. I think for this round, we need to make use of this early time to start discussing targets and votes right off the bat. If the voting starts and a name is getting votes quickly, I think that we should hold off on finalizing our vote until a little closer to the deadline if we can get some more discussion out of it.

Sadly, we're on round two, and there still isn't a lot to go on.

Well, I don't really know what to make of this. Do we go under the assumption that he was a threat to the wolves or that they want us to think he was? I would assume Pete wasn't the bodyguard since he probably would have protected himself in the first round. So that's good, at least.

Deet's "safelist" theory is interesting but do we really want to just divide people like that? I mean yeah, that's the list I made with who I suspected earlier but I'm not sure if we want to carry that over as a benchmark for the whole game. I'm sure people will switch back and forth on both lists - at least for me they will. I also want to reiterate I never named it the "safelist." :p

Obviously the wolves would have known Bryan was a villager so would they have voted for him knowing that or would they have not voted so they wouldn't look so bad? I think most of us agreed we were taking a stab in the dark but did the wolves help or not?

I guess all I know is I haven't really changed my opinion about anyone so far and I agree that we should vote earlier this round so we can talk more about the vote. I really want to read more opinions before I jump in with anything just yet.

I'd be interested to hear from the people who didn't want to lynch, which Pete was part of in the beginning of the round, by the way. Maybe that was just to take the spot light off of them? LOL this is just befuddling so far.

Well, I agree that we should probably start the dialogue earlier this time around.

I'm going to go ahead and go with where I felt I had an inclination just based off of what people seemed to be saying and doing last round.

I vote to Lynch Michael!

I don't expect nor really want this to take a majority, but I just want it to put out there, and to have Michael respond, say his opinions, and for others to be part of the discussion. This is at this point my strongest inclination.

We do need to get this started earlier, and not be *shrugged* quickly into a decison at the last moment, because that is when the wolves easily can see something forming, hop on it, and make people go with it. Through this path, we have a better chance at coming up with something slowly, and hopefully, correctly.

What did we really learn from this though.. nothing.. I feel like we're back to round one again. But I do think those that kept pushing NOT to lynch.. are people that should be suspects for sure. I'm not really sure what else to go on besides the fact that the wolves plus the sorcerer most likely voted to lynch Bryan. But then as was stated already.. it's possible they just didn't vote to not look suspicious.. Or maybe one of them lynched and one of them didn't.. haha I don't even know anymore. I'm all confused.

As for Michael! I would love to hear what he has to say as well because he made himself sound suspicious. But I'll hold off on voting just yet.

^^^ funny you say that, yet Pete who didn't want to lynch at first was proven to be a villager and the person who was lynched also proved to be a villager, so I think your theory kinda flies out the window there Kenya lol I think once the majority was for a villager, the wolves probably all voted for him. I find it highly unlikely that the wolves would push for a no lynch when a villager was the target.
I came on to vote but Thian had locked the thread the minute 8 votes was reached. So I'm going to think that the others that didn't vote also couldn't.

I was thinking the same thing. Bryan was a villager and certain people pushed for him to go first and they made a good arguement for why he should be the target and why we should have a lynch.

Ya its hard to say who is a villager or a wolfie, maybee deetster could be a wolf for just throwing out a lynch on pretty much the start on day 2?, but its hard to say.

Thats exactly what happened to me Tiffani, I came online to vote only to find that the thread had been locked and a vote had already taken place although it was before the deadline. I was unable to vote.

Why is that funny I said that Tiffany? Obviously people are going to be swayed by others saying lets not lynch or whatever. So that doesn't put the rest of the people that didn't want to lynch at first in the clear, just because Bryan was a villager. We had nothing to go on and two names were thrown out, I picked one to role with because I felt he COULD be a wolf/sorcerer and I felt that he rarely comes around anyway so if we were going to lose a villager, it was smarter to lose one that isn't around much because they wouldn't be helpful anyway. Also we don't know if Pete is a villager or not, he could have had a role, we won't know till the game is over sadly.

I would like to hear what Michael has to say too!

I just made my lynch vote early cause we all need to kinda start the discussion earlier, rather than dominoing into a quick decision on the final day, Drangontear.

I actually don't want people to go vote Michael! right away. I think that if SOME votes are made though, it will prompt the discussion, and the serious defences and offences that will get us to really see where people stand and their opinions.

For example, me stating a lynch, and you saying what you did Dragontear, pretty much makes it obvious TO ME, that we both can't be wolves or you wouldn't have done that. That doesn't really do me benefit, since I know what I am, but people looking at me and you could note that, and that will help probably in decision making.

I just want things to be said, and ideas to be shared.

My point and Mandi's was that it was thrown out there that those who didn't vote might be wolves and didn't want to look suspicious, we were saying WHY we didn't vote.

And I was saying how PETE was the first one to say it and try to push it but was indeed just a villager. I think the wolves voted, whether they started the vote or just jumped in, knowing it was a villager going down.

Journal Log Day 2 Part 2

I can't help but feel bad for Pete, but I must get to the bottom of this. Where did he go to? No sign of blood. Who was that shadowed figure. All these things I am curious about but the answers don't seem to come.

I again passed by the Chamber Of Elders and heard talking, someone had mentioned the name Michael! I haven't met him yet. I hope this meeting will quickly come to a favourable closure. The villagers have warned me to be cautious at night. I will have to agree, my assignment here is much too dangerous. Maybe I should leave and never return.

Of course you think that since you didn't vote, lol. Actually, I don't know if that is a great test of who is a wolf and who isn't. I voted and I'm not a wolf. We needed 8 votes to lynch and had 9. Who knows if some of the people who came after the board was locked would have voted or not? Also, if the wolves could tell Bryan was going to be lynched why add their name to the list when they knew he was innocent? To me I think it would have been smarter for a wolf not to jump on the bandwagon.

I'm still looking for certain people to show up and talk, period. We haven't heard from Termy or Michael yet and I would like to. I'm still looking at overall "suspicious" behavior like trying to lay too low, agreeing with the majority and not really having your own opinion and just trying to blend in. This just screams wolf to me and I just don't want to make the mistake of condemning the people with actual opinions and letting the quiet ones slide by to the end like last time. I just know the more we talk it out the better chance we have of nailing a wolf.

Anyway, I'm going to vote because I really agree with Deet that we shouldn't sit around just talking about whether we're going to vote until we get to the end and have to rush it. I'm making this vote to hopefully prompt some discussion but also because we haven't heard a single word from this person so far this round.

so you can just say that your not a wolf jackie, or deet? how do we know?, we dont. we dont know who any of the roles are, well we do personally. but if someone was of the opposing team they wouldent just spill the beans, otherwise this game wouldent be fun, so now its pretty much just random guessing. and we have 2 random names to lynch, so im gonna throw one out there

Actually that's not quite true. The wolves know that I'm not one of them. I just don't know who they are. As far as the rest of us, you're right, we don't know but that's kind of stating the obvious, isn't it? That's kind of what the whole game is about - using whatever information we do have to make educated guesses.

I'm not throwing names out there "randomly" and if you think random guessing is a good idea, go for it. It's not how I play the game and I would hope it's not going to be how most of us try to play.

I do think it makes you a dangerous player. Maybe you and Termy are the wolves and you're trying to protect him? You weren't going to vote at all last time when the names which came up were either Bryan or Termy but as soon as Bryan's name came up and you saw votes piling up you threw your name right in there. Either that or this is purely random and that is almost scarier.

What I find interesting about this.. is in the past when Jackie accused me.. and I got all defensive.. it was used against me and Jackie really thought I was a wolf because of getting defensive.. and now she's the one getting defensive because DragonTear.. threw a vote in her direction.. why is it okay for her to throw a vote at Termy and it's okay for Deet to throw a vote at Michael! But it's not okay for DragonTear to throw a vote at Jackie.. dun dun dun the plot thickens..

As far as the past game issue, I don't think the fact that you defended yourself was what people were referring to, Kenya. I think it was the way you did it. You got very personal and and accused me of being personal, which I wasn't at all. And you also really freaked out. I wasn't the only one who commented on that. I don't believe I'm doing that at all. I am pointing out logic in response to Dragontear's self-proclaimed randomness. I would think that was pretty obvious...
