Just having one of those bad days.. Vent here!

I was up until 5am, unable to sleep due to my roommate and her boyfriend having rather intense sex in the room next to me. I finally fell asleep, and woke up at 9am to them doing it again. I ended up falling asleep again though. But I woke up at 2, and GUESS WHAT WOKE ME UP!?

I'm sleepy.

I really need to vent about something that I keep telling my roommate about at least once a week.

I have an internship and my superviser seems to keep messing things up and can't get her crap together. She just started a new business (a casting and coaching studio) and expects my friend to be her assistant and for me to do some video work. Now my friend is supposed to be doing video work just like me. Last week we told our career advisor how we are spending our time at the internship vacuuming, filing paperwork, printing and other menial tasks. The second we explained this to her she started handing us paperwork to find a new internship, so during the following week my friend goes to our supervisor, explains to her that if we do not start doing actual video work that the both of us are going to have to leave.
The next day she is all about us being the filmmakers for a webisode series that she is having a part of but she expects me to film this all alone. She has made multiple attempts to dump this all on me, which I will not allow and this may not end very well.
Anyways, today I was supposed to go in but due to a make-up test I had to complete I couldn't go so my friend went alone and all she did today was file, print and the like. My supervisor emailed me today to tell me that she doesn't want me to come in tomorrow like I had planned and to instead just come in on Thursday all day (including during my class time) and she expects my friend to go in on her own to do more paperwork and stuff.

When my friend told me this I told her not to go in tomorrow and that we need to cancel the Tuesday and Wednesday times that we go in because we cannot film and there really isn't anything else for us to do, so enough is enough. She's not going to like me because I've really had it with her. I like her and I like the business and I'm glad to help but she's just taking advantage of us and it is driving me completely insane. I seriously don't know how to handle this, whether I should just leave like my career advisor advised us to or stick with it and make it work.
This week is is, no more, Thursday I'm telling her that we either get a film schedule together or my friend and I will be leaving. I don't even care anymore

Just make sure you handle it professionally - as much as it sucks to do stupid tasks, sometimes that's part of the job description - but if she hired you to do video work, that should be a majority of your time spent there.

But you don't want to burn any bridges because you never know when you might need them again...just go in with your friend and explain that the both of you were told that you would be doing video work, and that hasn't been happening. It sounds to me like they went from one extreme (no filming) to the other (24/7 filming) - your internship also has to respect the fact that you are a student first, and an intern second, and if they can't do that, then tell them that the internship isn't meeting your needs and you have found another one to take for credit.

And you might want to find another internship before quitting this one, so you're not shit outta luck

oh I won't be quitting without having another one of course, I'm just tired of dealing with it because she has been nothing but unprofessional about things. It'll work out I'm sure, I've been there a month this Thursday and have filmed one thing, that's why I'm annoyed. Hopefully it'll change though

so here's the latest. I had my internship class today and talked to my career adviser about the whole ordeal. Tomorrow I'll be going into my internship to film some stuff for the promo that we are supposed to do and possibly on Saturday as well, then my friend and I are going to spend about a week editing it and handing it in and then we are done. Our career adviser has recommend we just end now but we are going to get this done first. I am applying today to BNN and there is a sports video related internship that I am going to look into. Also WBZ is another one, so I'm actively applying to new ones cause I need to do it. Thing is my friend already has her hours and is only staying because I don't have mine yet and she's my ride to the internship. She recommended the internship to me in the beginning and now she keeps apologizing which I keep telling her not too, she didn't know it would turn out this way. We'll see what happens, all I know is I've had enough with her, she expects us to use our school's camera equipment (lights, mic's, everything) and we're not supposed too. The webisode series isn't going to happen for us, I feel bad backing out of it but I feel like I don't have a choice anymore.

Today my friend was supposed to go in so she could drive our supervisor around and do more filing and stuff so she called her and canceled cause she had a meeting with our teachers for our internship and portfolio class. Our supervisor told her to tell the teachers that she has an internship she's supposed to be at over the class. Which is one thing we are told not to do. The internship is not supposed to take over our time or affect our ability to make it to classes, or get class work done, school comes first, we're paying for it and not getting paid for the damn internship.
I'm so mad that I can barely take it. I told my career adviser and my teacher that I cannot stay there any longer because I'm losing my temper regarding it and need to leave. I cannot do it any longer. If it was pertaining to what we were supposed to be doing then I could deal with it but it isn't, so enough is enough, I'm done.

So, I mentioned yesterday that I had no sleep because of my roommate's porno sex all night. As for last night? I had no sleep either. It's non-sex related, but the point is, two sleepless nights in a row is so not agreeing with me.

Last night, around 11, my other roommate, Becky, started having chest pains. Her boyfriend Steve was over, so he called his roommate Adrian (who was the other part of that porno sex that kept me up -.-) and he came to drive us to ER. Then left. To be with my other roommate. Again.

Anyways, Becky was having chest pains, and that's supposed to be first priority at hospitals, but what with this H1N1 panic, they made us wait FOREVER! First, we had to wait for an hour in triage, before they told us to go sit in the waiting room. Three-ish hours later, we were brought into a room. I was actually impressed by this time, because whenever I've had to go, I've always had to wait 6ish hours. But, after we get in the room? We had to wait another TEN HOURS for the doctor to come into the room! TEN!!!

They finally did some tests on her, and told her that she has WPW Syndrome, which is some electrical problem in your heart. We don't know all the details yet though. She has to wear a heart monitor for a week so they can check it.

Needless to say, my roommate- although she's feeling better- is sick, and I sat in a hospital all night and all morning. With no sleep. So I'm going to sleep RIGHT NOW.

Just when you think things are looking up and work is being nice to you.. BANG of course it was too good to be true.. *sigh* they took me off graveyards.. that makes me soooo angry!

I am right now beyond angry about my internship, easily had the worst day there thus far and I was there for 10 hours today. Then to top off this day I find out that my supervisor has been trashing me to my friend because I'm on there on certain days and won't stay the whole day on other days that I'm there. The thing about this that makes me so angry I'm finding it hard to contain myself and not call her and curse her out (which would be a very dumb thing to do) is that she told me not to come on the days she was complaining that I wasn't there and the day that I can't stay the whole day is because I have a class that I cannot miss. It's stupid, she is a complete douche bag who also basically threatened me to my friend that if I don't make more of an effort to be there then she is going to not sign my paper for my hours which will really screw me over and I won't be able to graduate and if this happens I am completely screwed cause I cannot get the loans for another semester that much is guaranteed. I hate this loser and am hoping to get out of there as soon as possible.

Why must guys forget something so simple.. so easily!? Bah.

I'm not really having a bad day...I'm just SO tired that I'm thinking of lying down on the conference table for an hour once the rest of these people go home.

i'm snowed in my house. and it's my first saturday off in months. this sucks

I just realized I have a paper thing due tomorrow morning that's worth 25% of my mark. And I haven't started. FML.

Balgfosihgsoidgosdg. I'm dying.

I have an Italian exam in four hours, which I'm SCREWED for. So, I didn't sleep at all Tuesday night. I slept for a couple hours yesterday afternoon, but that's it. And I didn't go to bed again last night. Because of stupid exams. My head is killing me (which is rare, since I never get headaches), and I'm relying on energy drinks and hot chocolate. I'd LOVE to be able to sleep after this exam, but I can't.

My mom, dad, sister, and Nanny are coming to visit me right after my exam. My Nan is spending Christmas with us this year (she lives in England, and my Grandad died at home last year on Christmas eve, so she doesn't want to be there), and there's a market in my university's city that she wants to go to. Since my dad works 80 hours a week, this was the only day he could get off to come up here with everyone. And if they're coming up for the market, they might as well see me!

But, because of exams and everything, we haven't done the dishes in FOREVER. Legit. I just drank hot chocolate out of a bowl. A BOWL!! We have no clean mugs. And I stirred it with a knitting needle, since we have no clean silverware. Anyways, as soon as my exam is done, I have to BOOK IT home to do all those dishes, or else my family- especially my Nan- will FLIP.

Then, after visiting and dinner and stuff, I should go to bed, right? WRONG. I have a Human Geography exam on Friday, meaning I won't be sleeping tonight either. After that, I will just COLLAPSE... just to have to wake up on Saturday morning at 6:30 to go babysit a baby who hates me, and then wake up to babysit him again at 8am on Sunday.

At least after that, the only thing I'll have is a sociology exam on Friday, then HOME TIMES!
