DAY 1 BEGINS

The quiet town of Sunnyville was shaken when a body was found floating in the lake. Through careful investigating, the undercover detective was able to uncover the man's identity. It was none other than Franky Four Fingers, a member of the mafia. It turns out, the mafia hit one of their own because Franky Four Fingers was going to rat them out!!!

The 10 of you, the most influential leaders of the town, are here at the community center for a very important meeting. You must decide through debate and accusations who the other mafia members of the town are. After all, who wants the mafia running around their quiet little town?

Two of you are mafia, and it is your job as townies to figure out who is lying. You do have help from the undercover detective though. The detective will investigate one person of their choosing every night to discover whether they were active during the night or if they were at home where they belong. The town is under curfew and you may only meet here in the community center during the day time.

If a majority vote is reached before the deadline, the day round will end before the deadline arrives. At the end of the day round, whomever has the majority of votes, will be arrested. Their verdict will be known immediately and the town will be told whether the arrested suspect is guilty or not guilty. If there is not a clear majority, there will be no arrest and we will go into Night 1.

If you are arrested, you are out of the game regardless of your verdict. You may no longer post in the game but you may continue to follow along with the public.

After the day round ends and someone is arrested and their verdict made public, the night round will begin. The mafia may choose who to kill in the town to prevent their identities from getting out. Before the next day round, I will let you know who if anyone the mafia took out. That person will be out of the game and may no longer participate but may follow along with the public.

Rules say there's no doctor, just two mafia and a detective are the only "special" roles. Everybody else is vanilla town.

(Do you guys use "scum" to refer to the mafia? Or just always flat out mafia? They used scum at the mafia board I played at.)

I always say "mafia" to refer to the mafia. Don't really care though, you can call them whatever you want. Just don't call them late for dinner! I crack myself up.

Anyway, very excited to play, let's do this!

I like the term scum, I think it is very fitting considering what we have amongst us here...

And to be frank, scum is something that can easily be washed away with a little bit of cleaner and some elbow grease.

i know i'm not in the game.. but just wanted to say damn i wish i saw this thread earlier.. i love mafia. good luck guys. i will be reading.

How do you guys wanna go about figuring out who to lynch this round?

I don't really know how we can determine who to lynch... all I know is I am innocent, and I know I can be an asset to helping figure out this mystery.

I feel like at least 1 mafia would have posted already... since that's the exciting roles, we need to start looking very closely...

My gut is telling me either Kiwi or Birdy can be Mafia - no offense guys, just a gut feeling. I always trust my gut

I can honestly say i am 100% towny and 0% mafia, you know what they say the true mafia is quick to have the townys looking in the other direction

so Debani just made the top off the list in my book

Hey, just checking in, been watching the US Open all day. Nothing has jumped out at me so far, so I'd say vote for the people that don't check in, if there are any of those.

The first day, it's hard to know if any one is Mafia. I agree lynch an inactive if we don't have any suspicious people.

Well everyone has checked in so we know there is no one MIA. hmm

I knew saying anything would result in suspicion from at least one of you - like I said, don't take it personally. I am not scum, if you wish to lynch me due to my gut, then do so. As a townie, I can help get to the bottom of this and save some lives - lynching me for saying something would be irresponsible on your part if you wish to actually reach the common goal of outing the mafia.

For now, I agree, we should eliminate those who aren't participating in the discussion... but that doesn't mean I will forget my gut for too long though..

Havent been around much today, been pretty busy. Ill be around a lot more tomorrow and hopefully we can start figurin out who the baddies are. Till then

checking in here, honestly have no idea on what to go on. No one really screams suspicious to me yet.

Day One is always difficult to determine who to lynch. There isn't a lot to go on. Once you get to Day Two, you can look at voting history, voting reasons, who was killed during the Night, etc. But on Day One, unless the scum make an obvious mistake, usually it just ends up with people going with their gut. Speaking of....

My gut tells me that people who claim they're innocent in every post they make, even without suspicion on them....they're acting suspicious. So that's a +1 at Debani. However, Debani also had the guts to be the first person to put a finger of suspicion out there, and my gut also says a Mafia wouldn't be the first person to put out a suggestion for a vote. So that's -1 to Debani. So I'm neutral, but I've got my eye on you.

Is there a reason, Debani, for your gut going to Birdy or Kiwi, aside from the fact that they posted early checking in?

Kiwi, may I ask how experienced you are at mafia? (Like how many games have you played?) Because this kind of strikes me as an OMGUS tactic. OMGUS = Oh My God U Suck, as in, if somebody is suspicious at you throw suspicion right back at them, for the reason that they think you're suspicious. (Sorry, again, new group, I don't know what terms you guys use. Hah.) New players like to do this, especially when they're scum, so I was just curious.
