and see, that is something to consider.

She sees momentum on particular lynches and then hides in them as if nothing is wrong. she's active enough to vote, and nothing more, not even to add an opinion.

The vote is crucial of course because we have so many lurkers, and she is probably banking on that idea right now to save herself while everyone goes fishing for people who are not voting. That is her saving grace at this point.

just to say, I am fine with lynching either or right now, I understand the importance of a vote because we need it during the days to get a move on this game, however with the above, I can't just put it past that she is using her vote because it is needed as a life preserver.

I can see that as well, but then again, you and I were in on all of the lynches as well, so the same logic can apply to us. But the next day phase majority is going to be 5 again if we lynch a mafia this phase, or if we can manage to disable them, or save the victim. If we get a lynch and the mafia night kills, majority will be 4, a little easier for us to reach.

On a side note, I think the best course for us to take at night is to disable Thian again, and see what happens.

Indeed. When Tiff disabled you there was no night kill. And since she can target you any number of times, if she disables you again, and there is no night kill again, what innocent townie can complain? It doesn't prove your guilt but it will force the mafia to reveal who they aren't if they want to kill. But if there is a night kill, well that puts one more person in the clear, too, clearing two people from our list in one night round.

If we are wrong about (insert lurker here), that means there will be 6 innocent and 2 mafia-oriented roles left at the end of the round.

If Thian is mafia, this prevents him from killing period, and we don't have to worry about mafia night kills anymore. If Thian is NOT mafia, this puts the pressure on the real mafia to decide whether to clear him for us or not, and to also eliminate a suspect from our list by having killed an innocent or the traitor, and bringing our majority down to 4, all in one night kill, leaving 3 of the remaining 7 in the proverbial clear, a force to be reckoned with if they accidentally hit the traitor.

The move saves the town in the case of Thian being mafia, and if Thian is not mafia, they now know that if they try a kill it will put a huge hole in their defenses.

How does it put pressure on anyone to clear or not clear me? No mafia would be like oh ya, btw he's not mafia and out themselves?

I am not following your logic on it. As of right now over half of the people are inactive. So you really aren't clearing anyone by this strategy.

Okay, if you are not mafia, and Tiff disables you, and there is a night kill anyways, that means you are not mafia, clearing you. It also clears the person they killed, since they are dead. If they do not kill and try to frame you, it doesn't clear anyone for us, but it slows down the mafia considerably trying to frame you, and keeping them from wanting to clear you and another person.

If you ARE mafia, then you can't kill tonight either, and that keeps you off of our backs indefinitely.

Guys, I am working plus I have car stuff to take care of today so I'll try to check this thread as much as I can but, if there is a lynch, please stop posting until I can lock it. Feel free to update votes if you don't see me online. I appreciate all the help!

Feeling lucky after another night of safety, the group of nine again set out to discuss their predicament and figure out what to do next.

Fingers were pointed in several directions. A few people were louder than others, willing to accuse anyone who seemed slightly suspicious.

"We can't just do nothing! Sure, no one was killed again last night but that doesn't mean we are going to be safe tonight."

"Yeah, I agree. We need to find Hank and Anna's partners or any one of us could end up like Jeff, with a bullet in our chest."

"Everyone needs to speak up, now! This is no time to sit idly by."

Yet, some were still silent. Either not willing to draw attention to themselves, or having nothing to add. Unfortunately, this behavior wasn't going to let them go unnoticed. One person looked over at Ken Pearson, owner of the town's one and only outdoor store. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and well-known for his self-preservation methods and disapproving outlook on society. He kept guns in his home and wouldn't think twice about shooting an intruder to protect his home, or himself.

"Ken, I thought I heard a ticking sound coming from your tent the other night. Do you have an alarm clock in there? A really loud one?"

Ken didn't answer. He wasn't a man of many words. He didn't talk unless he really had something to say.

"Ken, why don't you answer? What are you hiding?"

All eyes turned to him.

"Me and my tent are none of your business." he gruffly answered.

"Look, Ken, I know you're a private person but this isn't the time to keep secrets. We are in danger and if you know something.."

"Stay out of my business!" was the reply, only a bit louder and more forceful this time.

"We need to search his tent!" one camper exclaimed. "With all his access to weapons - he could be supplying the Mafia. He is probably one of them!"

"I'm NOT one of them! But I have a right to protect myself - AND to my privacy!" Ken was up now. Charging toward a few who were already heading for his tent.

Two people grabbed him, holding him back. They were already in his tent, searching through his things and he was not happy.

"What's this?" one of the searchers called out. "Is this - ?" And suddenly the voice faltered, "Get out! Everyone get out of the tent. Back up! There's a bomb in here!"

The searchers scurried from the tent and they all looked at Ken. He made a sudden move for the pocket of his jacket, but someone grabbed his hand and stopped him.

"Search his pockets!"

"Yeah, he probably has a gun on him right now!"

Ken's pockets were searched, but no gun was found. But what was found was - a detonator.

"Be careful. It could go off!"

Now Ken was being held even tighter. He was a very strong man, but three people were holding him back.

"Get him over to the tree. We'll tie him up until we can figure this out."

Ken was tied to the tree and then everyone looked at each other with the same question in their minds. How were they going to diffuse the bomb? They turned their backs on Ken and again gathered in the middle of the campsite.

While they were discussing how to take care of Ken, and his bomb, someone looked over and noticed Ken had gotten free. They shouted to alert the others but it was too late. Ken had rushed toward his tent, grabbed his bomb and headed toward the woods.

"We can't let him get away! He'll come back and kill us all while we sleep! Get him!"

Some rushed after him but Ken was too far ahead. Then someone remembered - they had the detonator.

"Just activate the detonator. We have to kill him before he kills us!"

"Yeah, push the button! We have no choice!"

Soon, everyone converged toward the person holding the detonator. There were shouts and hands grabbing, until somehow, amid a mass of frantic people, the button was pushed and there was a loud explosion heard in the distance. The bomb had exploded.

Ken was far enough away so that no one in camp was harmed, but close enough so that no one missed the scene. It was obvious Ken was dead. No one could have lived through that explosion. A couple of people went to check his body for signs of life. When they reached him, they looked back at the group and shook their heads. He was gone.

His tent was then searched and his journal was found. Part of the last page was read to the group:

"I can't trust any of these people.
I don't know which of these people are
really who they claim to be and which
are lying. I thought Hank was my friend,
but I didn't know him at all.
I have to protect myself in case
the Mafia try to kill me in my sleep.
I just hope I can outlast them."

There was silence for several minutes and then, finally, someone spoke up.

"Ken was just trying to protect himself. He wasn't with the Mafia."

"We killed another innocent person."

It had become apparent that the danger surrounding this group - now of eight - was far from over...
