Mafia - Paradise - Day 7 Empty
PostSubject: Mafia - Paradise - Day 7   Mafia - Paradise - Day 7 EmptyWed Dec 08, 2010 1:48 pm

With the truth about Mark now out in the open, the five remaining citizens of Paradise hoped this would finally be the end of the nightmare. They gathered the belongings of the departed and packed up the extra tents, readying themselves for the bus pick up.

One person was packing up Leah Samuels tent and came across her birth certificate and the letter from the detective agency. The thought occurred to them that Leah's twin was still unknown. Whoever it was should have her things. Searching through her bag again, Leah's personal items were laid aside one by one until her Bible was found in the very bottom of her bag. They were about to set that aside, too, when something stopped them. Opening the bible, they found a photograph - an old, time-worn photo of two babies. They appeared to be twins. Each baby had a heart-shaped birthmark on the side of their neck. They looked identical. Flipping the photo over the date and subjects were written on the back. It read:

"Leah and Mark, 9/12/1980"

Leah's twin was Mark! Unfortunately, she had come to find her twin brother, not knowing that he had fallen into a life of crime. The camper sadly finished packing Leah's belongings.

While the others were packing up tents, two of them hiked out to the road at the appointed time to wait for the bus. One hour went by and they assumed there was an unexpected delay. Then two, three, four hours passed and the confused campers made their way back to camp to give the news to the others. With disappointment, they all agreed it was too late to go back to the road again today. They would all get some rest and head back out first thing in the morning.

After eating dinner together around the campfire, everyone retired to their own tents. It was not quite as quiet this night. Assuming all danger was out of the way since there was no evidence of a fourth Mafia member among them, the campers dared to relax and even try to enjoy the night.

In one tent there was music playing, in one there was snoring. One tent was empty - it's occupant over visiting in another tent from which "celebratory" noises were coming. In one tent someone was once again practicing for a day in court.

Hours later in the dark, pre-dawn hours, someone was laying still and quiet, eyes staring straight up at the ceiling of their tent. Eyes full of anger and revenge, preoccupied with their own agenda. The traitor had been following the Mafia's movements for some time, now. They had witnessed Jeff's murder as well as Joanne's, unbeknownst to the killers. Undaunted by being constantly ignored and rebuffed by the three criminals, they desperately wanted to join them and help carry out their evil plans. The fact that all three mafia were now dead was like a sign to the traitor - a sign that they were left to finish the job on their own and foil any plans the townspeople had to get back to civilization safely. Smiling a purely evil smile, the traitor closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep.

In the morning, plans were made to again hike out to the road to meet the bus. Again two were chosen to make the 3 mile trip while the other three stayed behind to finish packing up camp. By mid-afternoon the two hikers came back into camp with worried looks on their faces. The bus had again not arrived. They were miles from Paradise, stuck out in the woods with no communication and only enough supplies for a few more days.

Something was not right. If they didn't know better it would seem they had been sabotaged...

-------------------------------------------------------

It is now the beginning of Day 7. Good luck, campers!

Mafia - Paradise - Day 7 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 7   Mafia - Paradise - Day 7 EmptyWed Dec 08, 2010 7:04 pm

Charlie Maloney and Marisa Christiansen were telling the others the bad news. They had hiked out to the road and the bus hadn't shown up - for a second day in a row.

Charlie was a photographer in town. He was good at his job and he loved living in Paradise, but always felt as though he was on the outside looking in. His biggest wish was to be accepted by others.

Marisa was an entrepreneur. At 27, she had started her own business and was proud of that. Despite the fact that some people looked down their nose at her profession, she was very good at what she did. She was an "escort", even though escorting didn't fully describe her job.

Marisa had taken it upon herself to use her skills the past few nights to try to "persuade" certain people they would rather be in her tent than out in the woods killing someone. It had worked with Mark, Joseph, the attorney had been very grateful, although she hadn't really suspected him, and it had even worked with Anna. Marisa had no prejudices when it came to gender. She was an equal opportunity seduction artist. Her latest conquest had been Charlie. They had slept together just this past night and, to their surprise, they both felt something more than they had expected.

So now, they came to tell the others: Joseph, Patricia and Joel about the bus.

Joseph Weinberg, a successful attorney, had been preparing himself night after night in case he needed to defend himself - or others who had been wrongly accused. He had seen enough of the killing of innocent people. The very first night, after the killing of Hank Richards and then the tragic deaths of Father Matthews and his wife, Chief Sullivan, Joseph had a sense that he may need his skills to protect someone from this angry mob. He focused on Jeff Barrett, readying a defense for him in case he was accused. He was particularly upset to wake up to learn that Jeff had been killed in the night. He then focused his defenses on himself, Joel and Marisa. He just had a feeling they were all innocent. So far he had been correct.

Joel Rodriguez was a construction worker in town. He was handsome, well-built and had an eye for the ladies. His problem was he was always getting into trouble for things which were not his doing. He felt like he was always blamed for others' actions and, though his friends called him paranoid, he couldn't shake the feeling he always ended up being the scapegoat. He had been fearful during the past few days that his name would be brought up and people would turn against him. This was why he had no problem jumping in on the accusations or being the last person to point a finger, even if it led to the killing of an innocent person. He had no regrets, though. He was alive, and they had killed all the bad guys, right?

Patricia Stevens was a student. Some people thought of her as having that "girl-next-door" look. Patricia was fine with that, but if they only knew... Patricia had her sights on Anna and Mark from the beginning. She was very good at sneaking around quietly and undetected. She had witnessed their meetings out in the woods and secretly hoped they'd be successful in the evil plans. She tried unsuccessfully to be noticed by them. She was silent during most of the accusations by the town, and hoped they would notice this and bring her into their fold. This never happened, but Patricia was undaunted. She felt that she owed it to them to finish the job they had started. Patricia had found a 2-way radio in Chief Sullivan's tent and had hidden it in the woods. It was the only communication the campers would have with the town. She had snuck out and used the radio to delay the pickup of the campers.

So, when Charlie and Marisa came back to camp, Patricia feigned surprise when they told their news. The four others were visibly upset and Patricia just went along with it.

They decided to unpack the necessities, get a good night sleep and then set out again in the morning, hoping to flag down a car who could get help.

As the others were setting up the four tents (Marisa and Charlie had decided to share one), Patricia said she would go collect firewood for dinner. She headed toward the cave where she had stashed the radio. She was so confident in herself that she didn't notice that someone was following her.

Joseph had suspicions of Patricia ever since she claimed to be studying pre-law. He knew her story was full of holes when he questioned her further and she didn't even know the most basic facts that any first year student would have known. So, he followed her out to the cave and saw Patricia pick up the radio and turn it on. Quietly, he crept back to camp and told the others. They waited for Patricia to return to camp.

When she did, they were all waiting for her.

"Where have you been, Patricia?"

"I went to get wood. Here, see?" Patricia dropped a few pieces of wood near the fire.

"Is that all you were doing?" asked Marisa?

"Of course. What do you mean?"

"Patricia, I followed you. I know about the radio you have hidden. That is our ticket out of this place." said Joseph.

Patricia's eyes widened as she realized she had been caught red-handed.

"Oh, I just found that. I was going to tell you..."

"When, Patricia? When were you going to tell us?" Charlie asked. "After what has happened, I think you can see how your behavior looks. I thought we'd gotten rid of the Mafia, but apparently we missed one."

"I'm not a part of the Mafia...well not yet." Patricia answered.

"You were going to kill us in your sleep tonight, weren't you?" asked Joel.

Then Patricia smiled. Her eyes seemed to glaze over as her own dreams of being "one of them" seemed to become almost a reality with Joel's words. She slowly stepped backward, toward her bag.

"Are you looking for this, perhaps?" Charlie held up the gun which they had found in Patricia's bag after Joseph came back and warned them. It was Anna's gun, Patricia had taken it from the items confiscated from the Mafia.

Patricia stopped in her tracks. She looked around for an exit and then whirled and began to run.

"Not so fast!" Joel, overtook her easily and held her arms behind her back.

They grabbed rope and tied her hands behind her back. Then a noose was fashioned from a longer rope and one end thrown over the thick branch of a tree. It was pulled so that her feet were barely touching the ground.

Joseph went to retrieve the radio and brought it back to camp. The police were called and a short version of their ordeal was related over the radio. They gave the police their location and were told they would be out to rescue them within a couple of hours. "How many are dead?" The voice at the other end of the radio asked.

Joseph, Joel, Marisa and Charlie all looked at each other. They all slowly nodded.

"Eleven," Joseph spoke back in answer. "Eleven are dead. And four survivors." Joseph switched off the radio and the four walked slowly toward the tree as Patricia watched in horror...

PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 7   Mafia - Paradise - Day 7 EmptyWed Dec 08, 2010 7:46 pm

Good job villagers.

I actually had 0 clue who the mafia was this whole game, lol, til when I knew it was either Tiffani or Thian. I decided to try to get Dragontear lynched, which would then just translate to getting me lynched, but the point was I wanted to just waste more time there from one of those two getting lynched.

Too bad they just went right at Thian, you did a great job, watching as much as I did, I really just thought you weren't a mafia, but truly...I had 0 clue, and I have even less clue how to play my role, lmfao.

Yeah, I never had anyone change their pick before and since I didn't state that it wasn't allowed, and the round hadn't started, I allowed it. Deet, I kept hoping you would post because I was really interested to see how you would play it. I guess I'll know if you are this inactive again you must be evil, lol. :p

Ugh, I did a really poor job of helping the Mafia once Tiffani used her powers on me. Thian and I can elaborate more on our thought process and what happened behind-the-scenes, and I'm curious to hear his thoughts on what happened after I died in the official Reunion.

Well done, Town.

Word of advise to future evil roles --- just sacrifice yourself for the greater good if saving yourself is a lost cause. Like what I did the game before, kinda. Don't accidentally take out your fellow Mafia members in the process of trying to save yourself. -_-

Even though what I said concerning Thian was an attempt at using reverse-reverse psychology, it just didn't work at all and probably led Tiffani to suspect him and neutralize him. Blah.

<<< BA in Psych. Although I'm easily persuaded, so it kinda cancels out most of the time.

Thian used that strategy from the start too though. He played aggressively, trying to get people to ask questions and get discussion going. A mafia member wouldn't play like that because it puts a target on their back and it's too obvious right?? WRONGNOGANOIDJSOAISDJOISJDV!!
