I applied for an executive board position

for our LGBT organization on campus. I applied for the Programming Director. I don't know when I'll get results, but I figure I'll have an interview. I doubt many people will be applying for the position, but I want to be prepared.

I want to start brainstorming for programming ideas.

The only thing I don't want to hear is Drag Show...if you honestly thing that we don't have that covered, you're out of your mind.

Have a few events fairly mapped out - maybe even budget one to the best of your ability...that will let them know that you are serious about the position and have already put in some time and effort before getting the job.

Our A&Q group (Allies and Queers) always did a 7DoG (Seven Days of Gays) event with some specific event each day during the week. One day could be a day of silence (pass out cards explaining why), another could be a speaker in the gay community. And yes, one of our days was always a drag ball.

We do Day of Silence, but we don't do a whole lot for it. That's one of my big targets. I want to blow that day out of the water. I know we have to be silent, but that doesn't mean we can't do anything else.

We also have Coming Out Week, which sounds like your 7DoG. I'm going to look at what they do for that, and I might pitch an idea to add. I also want to pitch the idea what we have more casual gatherings after the meetings that don't only include driving half an hour to get to the nearest gay bar...where a of members can't really enjoy themselves.
