I always feel bad

When it rains and all the earthworms are out, dead and mutilated and I can't avoid stepping all over their messy carcasses...it's like a massacre...

Isn't it horrible? They are in the streets too... we just run right over them with our huge vehicles... this has got to stop!

I save the earthworms. I always have. When I was a little kid, my mom would take my sister and me outside to pick them up and move them off the sidewalk. I still do it. I did it last week on campus, and people gave me weird looks...

Dude, there were waaay too many to manage yesterday. It was like...ridiculous.

I'd join PETEW, shoot.

I seek them out vigorously and stomp them all!

That's not true, lol, but I do always think its kinda cool when they come up during the rain. I don't generally ever see them killed though. That sounds terrible, I feel bad when I see one.

I like in this little area that's kinda like a nice grassy town in manhattan, and there's squirrels and pidgeons all over there. The worse thing I've ever seen was walking to the store one night, and seeing a squirrel playing around with a scarf, or some other object. On the way back I realized that it was a dead squirrel that the other squirrel was playing with, and this time around it was just standing there watching it. That was honestly the one of saddest things I ever saw. Earthworms would probably not affect me after that.

It really was. It was so shocking. I don't get what happened to it. It was immobolized, but fully formed. It must have froze, or fell. It was a snowy cold day...

Ugh... *shudders*

I once found a newborn squirrel that fell out of a tree and was abandoned by it's mom. It was so sad It's eyes weren't even open yet, and it was all cut up and bleeding with flies ALL over it. I was only 14, and I saw him on a driveway while I was walking home. I ran up to the house to ask them to call the OSPCA, and all they said was "Ugh, that squirrel is still out there? We saw it fall days ago!"

I was furious. They SAW it fall, and did nothing. Poor thing was alive the whole time. I went to a house down the street then, since I remembered there was a middle-aged man who saved a bird once, when I was little. He came with me, picked up the squirrel, put it in a shoebox with a towel, put Polysporin on his cuts and then I went home with him. I fed it water using a dropper and bits of bread. My mom took me to the OSPCA with him, but he died overnight there I was so sad.

He was the cutest little thing.

*Throws my upstaged sad squirrel story on the floor and storms out of the room*

And Jess I cried 147 times during your story. Ok subtract 147 from that, but it was pretty sad.
