Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyMon Nov 22, 2010 10:31 pm

The group was in shock after the tragic deaths of Father Matthews and Chief Sullivan, but at least they could derive some satisfaction after killing the Mafia Boss. Still, they wondered...were they safe? Someone was the intended recipient of that message they had found. Was that person, or worse yet, were those people still among them?

With suspicions and paranoia hanging like a dark cloud above them, they silently went about making preparations for the night. They agreed to stay together, if possible. After all, there was safety in numbers, right?

After dinner was over they made sure the campfire was doused until only starlight faintly lit the campsite and everyone bedded down in their tents for the night.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 20hkaw6

Some hours later, one camper rose silently and crept from their tent. They looked around and headed straight for another tent, careful not to be seen or heard. As they passed one tent, a strange ticking sound was heard. Puzzled at first, they brushed it off as someone's loud alarm clock or watch. Strange, they thought. But there was someone much more important on this person's mind.

As they moved on, they passed the lawyer's tent and could hear the lawyer talking quietly to themselves. It sounded as if the lawyer was practicing an argument in front of a court, as if they were getting ready for a very important defense. Shaking their head, they continued toward their intended destination.

Sounds were heard coming from another tent. A lantern illuminated the scene.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 10shvyo

Smiling inwardly, but not phased, they kept walking until finally stopping at the front of the tent they were seeking. Slowly, unzipping the tent, they entered, to see the person they were looking for. Bending over the sleeping camper, they drew back the top of the sleeping bag, being careful not to wake them. Pleased to find the camper lying on their right side, they withdrew a small flashlight from their pocket, and keeping it away from the face of the sleeping person, they shone it on the back of their neck....and they froze at the sight.

There, in the almost perfect shape of a heart, was a birthmark. And then they knew for sure. The birthmark matched one on their own body. It was the evidence that proved to them - this was their twin. Turning off the light, they silently left the tent and headed back to their own and fell asleep dreaming of the long lost twin they had finally found.

As the camp again became still, two people slipped from their separate tents and into the dark woods. They met up by the cliffs overlooking the river in order to discuss what to do next. Hank had been killed and if they didn't take action they, too, could be found out - and perhaps meet the same fate as their boss. They suspect one of their own may have tipped off Chief Sullivan as to Hank's identity, but they aren't sure if they are right and are also a bit suspicious of each other.

Jeff Barrett also steps out into the darkness. He makes his way to the cliffs, following the faint voices off in the distance. He steps out of the woods and onto the cliffs. The two shadowy figures turn around.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 2nuuoux

"Well look who it is. Jeff, we were just talking about you, as a matter of fact. We were talking about who we needed to get rid of and how we were going to be able to outsmart all these townspeople now that we lost the Boss....and we think you can really help us with that. "

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Mwdr9u

The three begin walking toward the edge of the cliff and one spoke up. "We need you to deliver a message, Jeff."

"A message? Uh, sure. What's the message?"

The message is, 'the rest of the town will be joining you soon' "

"Who am I delivering it to?" Jeff asked, with a feeling of dread. As he turned around to face his companions, he got his answer.

"The Police Chief!" Just as the words were spoken, one of the two lifted a silenced 9mm, smiling as the gun went off, hitting Jeff and sending him falling off the edge of the cliff.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Ei76af

The two Mafia split up and head back to camp, each slipping back into their own tents undetected.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 30clq9k

At daybreak, everyone eventually woke to begin the day. One person noticed that Jeff was missing. Everyone split into small groups of two or three and began looking around. Most groups headed out into the woods and two people check Jeff's tent.

Three people walk out to the cliffs and, happen to look down over the edge. Seeing Jeff's crumpled, lifeless body, they run back to camp in a panic.

Reaching the camp, they see the rest of the group in a circle. Joining them, and out of breath, they are about to tell the others what they have just seen when someone turns on a mini tape recorder.

Holding it up so everyone can hear, the recorder is turned on. Jeff's voice can be heard on the tape:

"Today was a nightmare. It started out great with a quick capture of the mob boss but quickly went sour when both the priest and Police Chief end up in some tragic lovers' death. Now I find myself undercover with nobody left to turn to. Both my Mob Boss and Police Boss are dead and I know it's only a matter of time before I am found out. I need to find a way to warn the rest of the townsfolk before I die. At the very least I need to warn them about the traitor. I have been watching people closely and I am almost certain that the traitor is... wait, what's that? Someone just slipped a note in my tent. I'll be right back. This is Special Detective PhocQ signing off for now"

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyMon Nov 22, 2010 10:45 pm

Wow, gutsy of the mafia to take out one of their own. They must have known for certain that PhocQ was the undercover.

Good job, everyone, taking out a mafia member, especially the boss!

So we need to take out 2 more mafia plus the traitor (mafia aligned). That makes 3 mafia left, correct me if I'm wrong.

The only people we had basically cleared were Mandie (vast) and Kenya, but they ended up dying. The other person I've essentially cleared in my mind is Thian. He made a buttload of sense last round, and helped push for the Virtuanno lynch. If he were mafia he could have slipped a vote in to make himself look innocent, but he was an organizer in the lynch. Thian is almost 100% innocent. I say "almost" because there is always that possibility of someone being mafia.

It's late now and I have a test to cram for so I can't really read through past posts to get a better feel for who is suspicious from the past round. But there will be time for that.

Wow, strange they took out Phoc. Maybe because he was the nail in the coffin to vote out Virtuanno.

This is the way the votes went down Day 1. Maybe someone can make out something from them.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyMon Nov 22, 2010 11:11 pm

Holy crap! 4 dead at the beginning of day 2! Sucks we lost the cops though... :S

For reference, I snagged the final vote count with color coding to limit out the dead (I am not deleting this just because I got beat to the punch Razz)
Virtuanno (Thian, Kenya, DJ, Dragonldy, derBmoose, Brant, Dogdude, PhocQ)
Dragonldy (Termy)
Thian (Dragontear)
DJ (-jk-, Tiffani)
vasfantastic (Virtuanno)

Pending Votes:
Deetster, vastfantastic

I agree with dogdude, I really doubt that Thian is mafia at this point, but that doesn't mean he is cleared. Keep watching him.

On that note, I would also like to hear a little from Dragontear now, since Thian has moved down a couple pegs on the suspect list, about his vote now that we can build some retrospect. My strange suspicions of Termy have not been eased by the results of last round either. I had suspected PhocQ as mafia, and I guess he did have connections, but that is out the window now...

Indeed, Dragonldy, that is some pretty insightful logic behind PhocQ's death.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyMon Nov 22, 2010 11:59 pm

Wow. So a lot happened. To summarize:

A) The Mafia Boss was lynched the first day.
B) The husband/wife (Kenya/Mandie) didn't vote together. So the Chief of Police and the Priest were killed.
C) The Mafia killed the Undercover Cop in the night.

I think everyone definitely needs to re-read the past day to see if anyone has posted anything suspicious based on these events. At least there's an extra day to hopefully figure something out.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 12:25 am

wow what a day/night that was... lost so many people but atleast we did get the mob boss thats is kinda neat, but we lost so many..damn that sucks. was not expecting to loose the wife/husband and it really sucks that they took down phocq during the night phase. i don't think that the remaining baddies would of voted for the mob boss, which brings in my mind to termy, myself, jk, tiff, and deetster.

termy could maybee have a role this time, although i don't see him acting any different then he usually does, but i don't think he would go this long in games with out having some sort of involvement.

me, well there is so many roles in this game, and i can almost guarantee you that almost everyone has a role, which is nice that everyone has there own actions that they can do, but i can ensure you there are more threats out there then myself.

jk. i never played a game with you, so i have no clue how you are acting. but you may very well be a bad role

Tiffani, for some reason i don't think you are that suspicious at the moment. for now anyways.

and deetster, hmmmm. im not sure about you, yet im not 100% sure about anyone, i could be wrong about everything i said, or i could have some sort of right on this one so im gonna vote

i vote to lynch termy
, right now i think he is the most suspicious, and i think the mob boss would of picked him because not a lot of people would suspect termy.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 1:59 am

I am actually of the opinion that one of the mafia likely did vote for Virtuanno. He really was being rather brash with his actions, so I think to save face and hide in the vote, one of them voted Virtuanno. That scenario is at least possible, and at most likely, but not a given.

Of the two that didn't vote for him, however, I am now a tad more suspicious of DragonTear. The way he tried to retract his vote last round seemed a little odd, seeing as it was after majority was reached, and before that had really tried nothing else but did post a few times (lurking). And now I mention a moderate suspicion of Termy and he votes Termy right off the bat... wtf

On a side note, I'm curious as to how much Jackie enjoyed looking up those images and which images did not make the cut... Wink

PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 5:42 am

I also think that the mafia didn't vote Virtuanno, and obviously killed PhocQ for doing so.

Termy, Dragontear, -jk-, and Tiffani are definitely highly suspicious at this point (did not vote Virtuanno). Yes, another mafia could have hidden in the Virtuanno vote, but it's just so unlikely. It's how they singled out PhocQ.

Dragontear is the most suspicious right now, voting Termy right away, trying to immediately place suspicion elsewhere. Rich (derB), you meant Dragontear for one of those "Termy's" in that sentence. Laughing

PS. I'm really happy the twins' curse is broken!

PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 6:48 am

Actually I DID vote for Virtuanno, unfortunately I didn't count votes and it wasn't included since it was too late. And Deet didn't vote him, which one of you pointed out but the rest didnt' lol But I dont' think he's guilty anyway.

But none of that mean anything, if you remember last game, Brant voted me and pushed, trying to lynch me, and Pete and I voted Brant, so your theories are all totally off lol

I think it's weird that you find it suspicious that DragonTear quickly voted already, yet that's what Thian did last round, and he's basically all but cleared, although, like Brant last time, I dont' think it clears him at all.

Quote :

is how it should read, like I mention my Termy suspicion, then DragonTear votes for Termy. Thanks for looking out for me though. Razz

And since you voted for Virtuanno after he was officially was lynched doesn't help us Tiffani, at least it doesn't prove anything to me, for all I know it was a ploy. And the fact that I am suspicious of DragonTear now is because it is a new round, and we actually have information about how he acted last round compared to this round. I mention him, he maybe panicked, and threw out a decoy vote. Perhaps. I find it weird that you find it weird, though.

Past games aside, I feel it is possible that one of the mafia jumped on the vote towards the end, once it started to look like Virtuanno was a lost cause. I can see that because PhocQ finished him off, it is likely PhocQ was the only insider, but that doesn't mean we rule out other theories. It just means that, if I am right, that PhocQ was the one to willingly drop the hammer to kill of their Boss, instead of hiding in the majority without actually having to kill Virtuanno, making him their prime suspect. The other one, still having the opportunity to jump ship should another majority arise, and seeing that that wasn't gonna happen, did not risk jumping from the vote for fear of looking guilty once the majority was reached anyways.*

*edited for clarity, I need to start waking up a little before I start posting...

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 12:41 pm

Dragonlady:
I like how you brought the vote count from day 1 into this game. What I find odd is, you had asked for someone else to make something of it. Why do you not make something from it yourself? Why must you wait for someone else to give an opinion first before you will either go along with it, or disagree with it? As much as it helped you brought it to the foreground. I find it a bit odd you won't take a stance and figure something out on your own. Again I am not attacking you as a person, but the action of waiting for someone else to come up with an idea looks a bit scummy.

Derbmoose:
I agree, Dragontear jumping on the back of dogdude on day 1 is a bit questionable. He said it was a joking vote, but his original reason was parroting dogdudes ideas. I am not fully sure of Dragontears alignment yet but it will be nice to see some content and solid reasons instead of joke reasons for votes. Ones that do not include exact or almost exact reasons for voting someone.

Dragontear:
Your vote is on termy because you are speculating actions of the mob boss. You are trying to outguess what the mob boss would or would not have done and you are justifying it as truth because no one would suspect it. I will have a hard time following this logic until termy comes around. I need more information and participation from termy to gauge whether or not this vote is logical.

Derbmoose:
This is where it comes to a numbers game and what you believe to be true.
Vote analysis.
If you are a person to believe that there would be one mafia on the lynch and one mafia off or if two mafia were on the lynch and none are off, or if both were off the lynch.

If you are in believe of the first one.
You have
6 suspects on the lynch
vs
4 suspects off the lynch

and depending on your knowledge of percentages, 1 in 6 chance or 1 in 4 chance which are the better odds at this point. or 2 in 6 vs 0 in 4 or 0 in 6 vs 2 in 4 chance of catching mafia.

So the numbers game is out and it is just picking on what you believe to be true and going with the better option and questioning those ones you might be suspicious of.

Dogdude:
I do like a stick of double mint gum once in a while...thats for sure.

Tiffani:
What makes Deet off the hook for you? Tiffani, I know the hammer was a bit confusing on day 1 because of the missing vote count, but why did you desperately need to point out that you did vote for Virtuanno...After the hammer? could it not be viewed as you wanting to be on the right side of the fence when the flip of role came up?

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 1:16 pm

I really could be any one of those scenarios, Thian, but to be honest I was not looking at numbers at all, I don't think that bean counting is really gonna help us out. I was only trying to think like mafia, and if I was one, I would try to distance myself from the other so that there would be as little to connect us as possible, and the best way to do that that I could figure out was to have one on and one off the Virtuanno vote.

If it was a numbers game, like you said, to have it be a 2/5 shot would be foolish, once we found one, the other would likely be a fish in a barrel, if both of them were not on the lynching side. There is even the possibility that BOTH of them voted Virtuanno, and I don't think anybody would buy that, so if they did pull that off; boy, oh boy, are they in the clear by inverse logic.

But to have one in the lynch group and one in the non-lynch group seemed like the most likely way for the scum to hide, in my opinion. For them to hang in the non-lynching group while their Boss got lynched seemed foolhardy, as is certainly singles them out at first glance, which is just what is happening. I just mean to point out that just because somebody was on the lynch group, does not mean they are 100% innocent.

Well unfortunately, it might not have helped, but it wasn't a ploy. I did not count the votes, which is why I ended up breaking a rule, and I dont' break rules, so obviously it wasn't done intentionally Razz
And I find it odd that Dragonlady first, had any insight whatsoever, and second, brought up the votes for everyone to access, that is so NOT like her Wink

I just dont' suspect Deet yet, he could very well be mafia, I just dont' suspect him. I dont' suspect DragonTear either, or yourself Thian.

I can't know if it was or not. So currently Tiffani, I would like to know, if you don't suspect myself, dragontear, or deetster. you haven't been clear as to why, and you haven't given who you do think is suspicious. I understand that right now it is a full on guess, but try to be transparent so we know what you are thinking. Otherwise I feel you may ahve something to hide. Just because you clear these 3 people of not being suspect, doesn't mean that it automatically clears you.

I would also hate to start clearing people as 100 percent either. I mean it is nice that you have little suspcion on those players. Often times scum will buddy up with people in order to gain confidence. So although it isn't a big tell right now of your buddying up to three people. The fact that you are not clear on your stances, and you are throwing out innocent cards is a bit alarming.

Also, now that we have lurkers as well that are not contributing.

I would like JK to come around, DJ as well. I would like to hear from Termy of his opinions. Dragonldy, as much as you posted one thing, I think a more substancial informative post from you would be good.

I would also like to hear Deetsters opinions too. So far we have minimal people discussing or have posted on day 2. I am wondering at this point, why we have people hanging back. Is the reason why people hanging back because they are unsure of what to say? or are they afraid of causing commotion because they have something to hide?

for now. I am going to put my vote on DJ. Really, I am sorry at this point your day 1 contribution was not that great. When you come around to talk, I can consider moving my vote else where but I would like to hear more and this vote is for pressure.

Vote: DJ

The vote is still up for grabs and I will change it as I see fit, but as reasons stated before, this is to get lurkers out and helping us.

I don't think I said that finding those three innocent clears me. I just don't suspect them as of yet. But I did say I found Dragonlady's post suspicious, which I do. Also, I have nothing to hide, anyone who knows me knows I usually dont' have very many thoughts the first couple of rounds lol Heck, I didn't suspect Virtuanno lmfao So I never have anyone cleared in my mind until more proof is given. Remember Brant clearing Phoc & Jackie? Yea, look how well that turned out lmfao

You didn't suspect Virtuanno, but you were willing to cast the final vote on him? Or second to final vote? Whichever you had thought we were at when you cast your vote for him.

Okay, so let me ask you. What specific things do you find suspicious of Dragonldy at this point? If you do not have anything to hide I would like a better answer than...."Just because...I find it suspicious". Well what things are suspicious? Perhaps on day one there was something you noticed that you didn't like?

I guess what I am getting at by the word transparency is this.
Ask yourself what song is your favorite colour? your response might be Blue. Well it doesn't invite too much information and sure we know what your favorite colour is, but now why is it your favorite colour? Your answer might be: I don't know, I just like it. That isn't very transparent.

A transparent answer would be. I like the colour blue because it reminds me of a bright sunny day, it calms me down, I think of the ocean. When you add detail, you add transparency into your thought process.

So when I ask about your suspicion. I am really looking for more detail so we understand why you think the way you do Smile thats all. This goes for everyone. It is what I like to see. Since the game is a psychological game, and analytical game. it helps me determine if there are any motives behind what occurs.

sorry, that should read "what colour is your favorite colour, not what song is your favourite colour" I had erased the question posed.

I stated in my post why i found it suspicious lmao She NEVER has thoughtful insight and she never pulls up the voting format from the round before and say "here, go to town and find your bad guys" lmfao It's almost like she's trying to point the finger at other people which is exactly the kind of thing she complains about when people point the finger at her. You know, to cast suspicion off themselves and onto those so called innocents like herself lol

I'm always for a no lynch the first round. But I also end up voting every game in the first round because I dont' want to be cast as someone who "refused" to vote and be cast as suspicious. So yes, I was willing to cast my vote for him.

Okay, so, how do you get someone who is not contributing to your liking, to open up more? Smile ask them questions. Probe their thought process. It is all a learning experience.

Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mafia - Paradise - Day 2   Mafia - Paradise - Day 2 EmptyTue Nov 23, 2010 3:56 pm

Yellow Submarine is my favorite song/color by the Beatles. Razz

But thinking about this more just gives me that sense that things are being said in the hopes that something sticks, I sense the same kind of lack of convictions that I got with Virtuanno. While I can totally appreciate not wanting to be cast as suspicious for not voting against a mafia member, I find the people that 'fall in' to be the most suspicious of all. I may not have much experience here, but the only way for the town to win is to stick their necks out and take risks, and yes it might get them killed. This isn't Survivor. If you are a townie and you get killed but the town triumphs over the mafia, as long as you did something to help smoke them out that is a win for you too, even if you had to sacrifice yourself for the cause. When you base your actions on self-preservation alone I am extraordinarily wary of your actions.

I vote to lynch Tiffani.*

*edited - vote retraction.
