Mafia - Paradise - Day 1

A hush fell over the town as news of the Judge's strange death spread. People looked over their shoulders and were afraid of their own shadows. Soon, a Town Meeting was called and the Chief of Police assured the citizens of Paradise all would be well again. People hoped this was true.

Not too long after, a group of Paradise residents embarked on their annual wilderness retreat. It had been planned for months and, even with the danger looming in the town, they were not about to miss it. So, a bus picked up the group of 15 and off they drove, 5 hours outside of town, to camp, fish, and commune with nature for a long weekend.

The bus arrived at the destination and the passengers disembarked, gathering their belongings, tents, supplies, they hiked about 3 more miles until they found their spot. Tents were pitched, a fire built and camp was set up.

As the group mingled, unpacked belongings, settled into their tents, a discovery was made. A piece of ripped paper was found in the dirt, apparently it had fallen out of someone’s bag. The paper read:

“The Judge’s death was unfortunate, but necessary. We had to send a message to –“

That’s all that was readable. The rest had been torn off. Joanne froze as she held the note in her hands, Joel noticed her change in demeanor and looked over her shoulder to see what she was looking at. Soon, the other campers noticed, too, and confused looks spread across faces – until, at almost the exact same time, they looked at each other, eyes wide. The meaning could not be more clear. Whoever was responsible for the judge’s death, and what was behind it – was here among this group of 15. The question was..who? And how many?

Thian, I guess I would answer your questions like this:

1. I would rather lynch a lurker. Let this be known. (I think I understand that a lurker is an under-the-radar player, correct?)
2. My favorite meal is dinner. I can be as elaborate or simple as I am hungry for! pizza

3. I kinda liked being an unknown last game, it left several opportunities for strategies depending on the outcome of the role, it also seems like it would be cool to be pulling the strings.
4. BEER
5. Well I will be as active as humanly possible, like I said, I greatly dislike inactive play styles, I think it leaves too much guesswork for everybody who wants answers. Being quiet only leave questions unanswered.

My answers:
1. I'd rather lynch a liar --- assuming they're an evil liar and not lying or withholding information for the greater good. If we don't have any information to base our vote on, then lynching a lurker is still fine with me, especially if we're not sure we can depend on them voting or contributing down the road.
2. Favorite Meal: Dinner
3. I don't really have a preference. Having a role's fun and makes the game interesting, but not having a role also takes away a little pressure.
4. Favorite Beverage: Water
5. Besides when I'm sleeping for 9 or so hours every night, I should be able to be here every few hours through the day. On final vote days, I can set up mobile alerts to try to be more active in keeping up with this.

Well there are two types of lurkers at least from what I have seen before.
1. Plain straight up lurker. ((not posting, not contributing, not bothering to look or read or even vote))

2. Active lurking. ((posting much about nothing, indecisiveness, fence sitting and playing the, OMFG I dunno what to do))

These things are dangerous to have if we want a win. So I definately will be watching out for this type of behaviour as well.

Unfortunately with most attitudes, under the radar works best for some because people want to stay alive in the game to continue forward, but it is a group effort and the more active this group is the better chance we can weed out the lies from fact.

I would rather lynch a liar. For those that know me, you know I hate liars.

I guess I would have to go with dinner since I really only eat one meal a day.

I just like to be apart of the game. I dont have a favorite role.
4. Favorite type of beverage
Well, now, this is difficult. I love CocaCola. I love Mountain Dew. I dont drink a lot of soda's though, I drink a lot of water. Flavored water, in a bottle. It's called Fruit 2o and comes in many different types of flavors. I also like to drink alcohol from time to time. I like Smirnoff Ice... and Ameretto.

I at least check ORGPlanet once a day, most days it's more than once. I will be active Smile

In all seriousness, starting out with an opening survey is a very good idea for future rounds and future games. Just something interesting to get the ball rolling.

I also support an opening lynch here. Maybe I've overlooked something with the roles, but I think we have 4 evil roles (1 Mafia Boss, 2 Mafia Members, and 1 Traitor) and a 4/15 chance of lynching someone evil, which is better than in the past.

Lynch a liar. A lurker does nothing but has a chance to change for the better whereas a liar jeopardize his/her reputation as a player/person that effect the views of him by others in current game and future games, regardless of roles they take (good/bad). Karma is a b*tch and it will bite you in the ass when time comes..you don't want that to haunt you. Once you lose a trust, its hard to get it back

Doesn't matter what type of roles i get. They all interest me. It is my job to adapt to a role given to me and try my best to exel at it. If i failed, figure out why and learn from your mistakes.

Hey everyone!! I'm extremely psyched for this, and am looking forward to playing with Thian! I'll go ahead and answer those questions, cuz it sounds fun.

1. I'd rather lynch a liar because if they can't be trusted, they're most likely mafia.

2. My favorite meal of the day is dinner. It offers the most variety. Breakfast is always Raisin Bran Crunch. Lunch (if I have it) is most often Subway. Dinner can be anything! Fish, soup, fishy soup, or even a good steak!

3. The roles that interest me in these games are the ones that require a night time action of some sort, or that give you a connection to other players. I hate the boring "townsperson" roles where you don't really do anything.

4. My favorite soda is orange soda (any of the brands). Alcoholic would have to be Captain + Coke. Or Mount Gay + Coke (no hangover with this one).

5. I'm always quite active, but do enjoy a good bout of observation as well.

Now I'm gonna ask Thian a question...
