| i has 1. But yeah, I'm not entirely sure what it all entails. I know we have to pitch a show, but that shouldn't be hard, I suppose. We want to have a morning show, and we want to have weird little contests and guests and whatnot. We only get one two-hour slot a week though, so getting a show like that started will be rough. The girl I'm auditioning with and I have a chemistry that will probably translate well onto the radio though, so hopefully neither one of us ends up being nervous or something that would make us awkward...or rather, more awkward than usual. So yeah, if I'm not on tomorrow before then, send me good vibes | |

| Actually, now that I think about it, does anyone here listen to talk radio in the morning? Any tips? | |

| I listen to your radio station a bit. I used to 'watch' that lesbian show with those two girls that took suggestions on AIM. SO GOOD LUCK! You are totally entertaining enough for this shit. | |

well i WUZ a radio majurr on what USED to be the #1 college radio station...because i'm lame and like to throw that out there If you're doing a talk show, make sure to have a lot of things to talk about - a LOT. You'll be surprised how quickly you go through things...like you'll talk about 82 things and 5 minutes have elapsed. If you don't have things planned out and prepared, sometimes people can hear it, and they can only take so much "Um...uh...so..." before they turn it off. It never hurts to throw out the phone number/AIM contact info or whatever, but don't say it every 2 minutes. It sounds desperate. Contests can be tricky, as long as you don't hurt the station/anybody else, you should be fine. I trust you. Be creative! Other than that just have fun with it! It's always cool to have your friends call in to talk to - and sometimes you get a random person too. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

| And I think a lot of talk radio is boring...they just blab on and on or yell at you through the radio. College talk can be a lot more free flowing, interesting and FUN. And more relevant. There's only so much I can listen to about sports or the economy or the government....zzzzz | |

| Thanks, everyone! I just got back from the audition. We'll find out if we get our show by Friday. We're hoping to get a morning show, and they seemed to really like that (I'm hoping it means they don't have too many other people looking for that slot).
Basically, what they had us do was fill out a general application, to which my partner and I responded both seriously and a little goofyish. They seemed to like that too, said that "The more personality, the better." Then we waited for like, 50 min...the actual audition only took about three minutes. They asked us about our show, and then we had to read some stuff. I had to do a little "Welcome Back" ad-lib thing, like after a song plays, and I had a list of things I had to incorporate into it without a script, and my partner had to do a "Live Read," where she basically just read off a radio ad.
Like I said, I think it went really well, they said we had good voices, and they didn't seem too worried about us.
