| Welcome, Leaders, to your next challenge: The Electoral College.
Typically during an election only 2 candidates compete. For this challenge all 8 of you will compete individually as your own candidate.
Each of you has 100 commercials PER PRIMARY ELECTION (excluding Super Tuesday) that you may use to help "sway" the people of each state to vote for you. For Super Tuesday, you each have 300 commercials.
You may place all of your commercials in one state or spread them out amongst many.
The player who has the most commercials played in a state will win that state and its corresponding number of votes in the electoral college.
If no commercials are placed on a state by any player, the state goes to nobody.
If two or more players tie for the most commercials in one state, all those in the tie will forfeit the state and it will go to the next highest commercial placer. If the tie ends up knocking out everyone, the state will go to nobody.
The player with the most ELECTORAL COLLEGE points will win immunity.
If there is a tie the player that won the most states during the "Super Tuesday" primary will win. If there is still a tie the player that won the most states during Primaries 4, 3 and 1 (individually and respectively) will win.
The primaries will occur in roughly the same sequence as the U.S. democratic primaries in 4 rounds (all primaries after Super Tuesday are roughly divided in half). We ask, however, rather than taking 4 days to do this, that you each submit all of your commercial choices in 1 list. Remember, you get 300 commercials for Super Tuesday and 100 commercials PER EACH OTHER PRIMARY.
Copy and paste the list below into your Journal in a thread entitled "Electoral College Challenge" and after each state put the number of commercials you'd like to play there. You may place 0 if you want. The number of electoral college points each state is worth is in parenthesis.

And then whoever wins that can the place their next 100 states in the second one?

| actually, you're not. You're exactly right. You pasted Primary 1 (or round 1 as you called it) and you have 100 commercials for the first primary. the second one (super tuesday) has lots more states, so you get 300 commercials for super tuesday. The last two primaries are the same as the one you posted. 100 commercials for each. | |

| Uh... here's a question.
Do we ONLY have 100 commercials to use? As in... when spreading them out to the states per primary, do we only have 100 to use, whereas in the auction we had 1000 points but could "use" more than 1000 points when bidding? | |

If we lose the first state and lose, we still have that 56. But, if we win it, we lose the 56 and that means we would lose the 79 because we can't afford it any longer. | |

| You're not bidding on anything for Christ's sakes. You are dividing your 100 up between what is there. We have 1,000 bucks are we were BIDDING over that amount. If we won the bid THEN those funds were subtracted from our max coins.
OBVIOUSLY, some people are confused and it's more than just me. And, every challenge, there are more than just me confused about this. There is rhyme or reason to these challenges and who wins them. We're just frustrated by the sheer randomness of it because we can't really strategize beyond guessing.

| Basically.. you have 100 commercials in the first primary.. and you divide them up between the states.
For example.. if you want Illinois, you could put 90 commercials on it. Then you'd have 10 commercials left over in that primary to put it somewhere else. | |
