Well, the floods in australia are all over the news here. The flood waters they say cover an area larger than Texas and NewMexico combined. ............Dude. Thats a LOT of water. ..... Thats, two entire states.

I read on his facebook yesterday that his work was evacuated.

Yikes, I will have to look at that link when I get home. Poor guy. hopefully he will come around and post that he is okay.

I told him he is in my thoughts. I just thought... idk... we could keep him in our thoughts. I feel bad for the Australians.

Just so y'all know, twelve people have lost their lives in the flood waters, one of them being a four year old child who fell off a rescue boat in Ipswich.

I live a long way north of the flooding area, but my brother lives in Brisbane, which is the area that is actually being flooded. Last I heard there were 51 people missing, and a LOT of properties that are underwater (I've forgotten the figures, but it's gigantic.)

My brother is a suburb away from the suburb that is in the floods.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. It's virtually impossible for me to miss the updates, because a number of channels have dedicated all their airtime to the crisis.

My thoughts go out to everyone in South East Queensland. As long as he's been evacuated, he's safe. Water in some areas are starting to recede as early as tomorrow morning

Alright, quick update before I go back home.

One more person lost their life, so death toll is at 13.

The flood waters are receding right now and people are getting back home, substations that were switched off as a precautionary measure are now being switched back on.

Brother's totally okay.

I saw some of the flood pics that Sean posted on his FB, there were over 50, did you see em?

I cant.... imagine what that is like. We have flash floods here where I live, but, water usually goes back down after several hours.

It's a weather pattern. We've been through a huge dry period, and now it's the wet season. It happened in the 70s as well, but that was a lot worse than it is now.

Apparently there's possible severe weather in my area, but it hasn't really ~happened~ yet.

61 people missing
15 people dead

Both have risen, unfortunately. The work has begun to find closure on the 61.

Waters still falling, and the worst is over, but there is some amazing footage of boats and all kinds of things being destroyed.

Death toll stays the same.
Missing toll slowly falling, around 55 this morning.

There's a floating walkway that is falling to pieces and breaking apart, the main concern is that this will hit one of the already weakened bridge supports nearby, but the tugboats in the area are dealing with them.

More people are moving out. There's been flash flooding in Victoria and Tasmania, and that's where the concerns are starting up now.

Sean is okay but I think his brothers house got messed up by the floods.
