Weird eating habits?

What are some of yours?

I can think of two of mine off the top of my head:

1. I like to spread grape jelly on grilled cheese. Picked that one up from my babysitter.
2. I rarely (if ever anymore) heat up canned foods like soup or Chef Boyardee. That's a habit I picked up from working somewhere where I was afraid to use the microwave. Generally I just gran a spoon and start eating right from the can.

So what do you think? How weird am I?

I eat everything plain. I occasionally will use ketchup, depending on what it is and if I'm in the mood, but other than that, I HATE all dips, condiments, dressings, etc. etc.

It's funny though, since my brother is the COMPLETE opposite. AKA, he used to eat his Lucky Charms with ketchup on top.

Oh, and I can't take sips from a drink like a normal person. No matter how small the sip is, I split it in half in my mouth. I push half into my cheeks (like a hamster, lmao), and save it until I swallow the first half. THEN I swallow the second half. I have no idea why I do that, but I have to swallow every sip in two gulps.

I absolutely LOVE peanut butter... I put it on almost every cookie I like... chocolate chip, Oreos, etc. Hahaha.

I like things when they're burned, I think the taste of something when it's burned is even more delicious...I guess that doesn't go for EVERYTHING and specifically nothing with bread....but I even like macaroni and cheese better when it's all burned.

KETCHUP ON LUCKY CHARMS?? I mean, I shouldn't judge... but Lucky Charms? I think I just vomited a little just thinking about it. (I'm not a big fan of ketchup. Fries and hamburgers only please...

Cory, your habit sounds pretty delicious, though I'd need to have a drink after pretty much every bite and Mo, you'd love my Mom's cooking. She used to be a food stylist, so everything she makes looks a whole lot better than it tastes...which generally means she burns it. Your mac and cheese thing reminded me of it. I can barely eat the top layer of her lasagna.

Any kind of pocket sandwiches, Hot Pockets or these pocket pita things I discovered at ALDI's that I love, I don't eat like a sandwich. I have to peel off all of the breading and eat it, then I eat the middle stuff.
I also do this with corndogs, but only when made at home, as this isn't acceptable behavior for walking around a carnival.

I also have to finish one section of my plate before I can move on to another food. And I can't stand my food touching :]

On Thanksgiving, all of my food MUST touch So much more delicious!

Oh, I'm the opposite! At ALL times. I forgot to mention that. My food CAN'T touch. No matter what. I won't eat any food that touched something else. I used those separator plates until I was like, 12, lmao, because my mom was sick of me freaking out if my food touched.

The only thing weird that I think I do is dip grilled cheese in ketchup. I know some people do this but I get more looks of disgust more than looks of agreement. Other than that I'm not that strange with my food.

Although, a really bad habit of mine is to use my fingers to assist in picking things up with my fork. Honestly, I find it so much easier to use my fingers to help, say, scoop up rice with my fork or spoon than using a knife. It's a really bad habit that I'm having problems breaking

Hahaha, we still use the separator plates at my house. Jessie and Zach can probably appreciate this a little more than others, because they've heard how ridiculous my dad is, but every single plate in our house is a plastic separator plate EXCEPT for my dad's (yeah, he has his own plate). Somehow no one else is trusted to use things that could break Oh, and me and my brother aren't allowed to use the glass cups; only the plastic ones.

I think next Christmas I'm getting my family new plates (breakable ones!!). And new towels. And a million other things that have needed replacing for years.

If Im eating stuff like, turkey, corn and green beans, I dont like my food to touch each other on the plate. Thats gross.

- I will not eat american cheese for the life of me, i just think it's nasty. I also hate mac and cheese from a box. If it's made with real fresh natural cheese, then yes I'm down. I just hate cheesy/creamy sauces from a box in powder form.
- I prefer my produce organic. Idk if I'm just paranoid, like it better, or what. My family thinks I'm a freak, but they all steal my fruits and vegetables and it makes mad lol.
- I hate del taco's hot sauce, I prefer taco bell's sauce, especially the fire sauce. <3 I also hate pepsi and it's products, and that's what taco bell has. So I'll go to taco bell and get food and sauce, then del taco for a drink and whatever else sounds good. (I dont' eat fast food a lot because i'm so health conscious, but when I do i'm very particular about it lol)
- I love fry sauce, and hate ketchup. Mayo is ok, but I cannot stand Miracle Whip. Mustard is fine too. But I hate all ranch dressings for salads, dips, you name it i hate ranch dressing lol.

I was trying to figure out what weird food things I have, since I was/am a picky eater....I couldn't think of anything until Trevor reminded me -

CHEESE. Blech gross.

I can eat Pizza, and most mexican food things with cheese (tacos, burritos etc etc) but like raw cheese? Like cheese and crackers? pretty much no. But my taste has changed a little so I like certain ones. But I could never eat that little block of cheese.

I ate a grilled cheese for the first time that I can remember on New Year's Day this year....I ate most of it and fed the rest to the dog because I couldnt really deal with the taste of American cheese/too much cheese.

Gross. It's a texture thing.

I can't really eat marshmallows/gummi bears anymore, after figuring out what gelatin is made of (horses). I'm not a vegetarian by any means but...horses pigs and bovine animal parts made into a gel just don't do it for me.

Also, I havn't eaten from Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King in YEARS....but I love french fries and fast food And I always need ketchup with my fries. I shake my pepper and salt on the ketchup and mix it around. om nom nom. I can't really think of anything else.

I also wouldnt eat Mashed potatoes until I was 20 years old.

I SILL hate tomatos they are gross.

Also when I go to a Mexican restraunt..(you haven't had mexican food until you've had texmex) I pour queso all over my rice.



My husband has a gross eating habit. It's so gross i can't even watch. He eats tomato soup STRAIGHT out of the can, not heated up, with a package of crackers. BLECK makes me gag just thinking about it

Trevor, what is "fry sauce"? And I assume Del Taco is a fast food Mexican place?

Fry Sauce is kind of a Utah/Idaho thing. It's pink, it's usually kind of mayo and ketchup mix. OHHH try making cheese frys... then mix hickory bbq sauce and mayo and dip them. oh muh gaw it's so good

My parents used to eat ketchup/mayo as a kid - they called it Stuff.

That sounds absolutely vile...

And I used to have the same opinion on corn as Mo, but then I discovered that it was okay when paired with it's long lost twin, mashed potatoes.

It's not the taste or anything...it's that it's evil.

May I ask why...or is this something I could figure out on my own?
