Round 11

I'm very happy with those tribal council results. Now I'll potentially have to do a little damage control, but using the Power Pop was essentially irrelevant to the tribal council so no one should be that irritated. And if they are, I'll pretend to be embarrassed and ashamed that I used it...but know that it was the right move. Even if I end up getting 6th now.

No one responded to my PM's. Not a great sign. Since Sadie's gone for the weekend and won't be saying anything, I only have 4 other people to talk to: Bryan, Cam, Deetster, and Kenya. I just need to make sure we're still solid looking forward. I never even talk to Bryan, but I'm sure I'll get the chance to talk to Cam, Deetster, and Kenya unless they have weekend plans.

If all goes as planned, this should finally be Deetster's round to go home. Kenya's ready to do it, and it should be exciting when the realization comes that he's not the closest person to Kenya (and maybe Cam) like he potentially thinks he is. If he does. The fact that I used my idol makes it look like I'm not close enough to most people, so that hopefully makes Deetster think that I'm more out of the loop than most people.

Now with that being said, I can't fully assume that I'm safe for this round. That's always a horrible assumption to make and some of these people (Cam, Kenya, etc.) like feeling senses of control that I may have screwed up by playing that idol without talking to them. So that's something I need to keep in mind; I really need to fight hard for immunity here. We're getting to the point where I might as well try to win every challenge. Some of these, I've taken my time and been intentionally lazy (the first and third merge challenge) but when it comes to the point where I have to win, I'm usually a whole lot better than I've shown so far in the challenges.

Thoughts
I love how the only person I'm talking to is the person who I want to see go home this round. Hopefully things change tomorrow, but worse-case scenario, I should be able to depend on Bryan and Kenya voting for him with me to at least force a tie. If he wins immunity, we can send Sadie home. Yay for having 3 numbers, and I doubt that Cam would vote with Deet and Sadie anyway so I think that I'll be safe. But people can be tricky and I'd like to feel like I'm a key person connected to the majority of players but I suppose we'll have to see for sure because other people who have felt that way have gone home.

I can beat anyone in the final two still, in theory, even though I'm now hoping to go with Kenya. I really am scared about getting 5th if the last Hornswoggler wins immunity or 4th if Cam wins immunity. I wish that Cam wouldn't have his idol here because that could screw everything up.

Thoughts
Bryan's too smart. Yep. He's already thinking about finals and knows we'll have to fight there and also likely knows that Kenya's closer to him than to me. But at least he knows the plan for this round and next round and is down for it. Unless he's just lying, which is always possible. I would be surprised to end up 6th, but I could easily end up 5th if Deet/Sadie wins immunity or 4th if Cam wins immunity. I must stop that from happening.

Thoughts
These people could easily be lying to me, but I thought that last round as well (they weren't) and the communication is exactly the same as it was then so I don't know. But I do know that these people know how to play these games and know how to lie so I'll take nothing for granted.

I always enjoy playing dumb a little in the challenges. Like this one, I think more than likely my 4 will win if we work together, but I'm pretending not to completely grasp it and gradually "thinking of" certain conclusions that will help us. I mean, I'm not acting dumb. Just not fully and completely sharp, although I don't really think anyone completely grasps it. Hmm.

I want Cam to think he's smarter than me, lol.

I love how we're all waiting around for Bryan's stuff and I get it through PM to save the day. And then Kenya sounds disinterested and doesn't send me hers and Cam goes to bed. So again, I'm trying to be smart and rational but not too insistent and I end up overplaying. Ugh, you just can't win with these people.

Bryan only gave us the first half of his list, which probably cost him the challenge. And now he probably realizes that because he's smart. Like me.

Again, I can't overplay and make these people get on top of the challenge if they don't want to...but this is getting really frustrating because I don't see how we're going to possibly work together on it with no one communicating.

It's a shame, too, because if Deet and/or Sadie win and go to the glass elevator, the game could be over at F5 for someone unexpectedly like me. So we kind of need to work together on it to have the best chance of preventing that from happening.

Group coordination is the key! Except for Bryan who is not helping we. Kenya picked a few repeats, and if we don't win, those 4 repeats could end up costing us the challenge. But oh well, we'll have to see how it goes.

Darn it. Bryan beat me by 1 round. If I'm voted out because of that, luck just isn't with me. I don't know what else I could've done though besides use the random generator I used.

So now I'll get 2 votes here, and those past-votes could easily cost me this game. I don't know how to avoid getting the past-votes without alerting Cam or Kenya that I'm targeting them. Just ugh. Boo! Since Kenya's being all pro-jury and voting Deet, if Bryan or Cam doesn't vote for Deet, I could end up going home. Not good.

I see it going 3-2-1 though with Deet getting 3 votes, me getting 2 votes, and Sadie getting 1 vote. But I'm not safe by any means.

I need to take steps today to assure that I am not the person going home. I think it would be sad and premature if that's the case, but if it is, I'd have to give in and admit that my game could have been better. You need to account for worst case scenarios.

In the position of Bryan or Cam, I would vote Brant out of the game right now. He's too into the game, too good at the challenges, and too close to some key people. They could take me out and still have good positions, probably better positions, if that is the case.

So really I just need to communicate to assure my safety without going completely insane or driving anyone completely insane. I don't know how we'll all lie to Deet or Sadie without my name being the one that comes up. Ugh.

Considering my game is flawed and I could be voted out here, I think I'll take a minute to critique the other players' games. Here's the order of who I'll want to see win from most to least.

1. Deetster --- if this guy makes finals, he's got my vote for sure. He'll have come into this game with a huge target on his back, been a target so many times, and STILL made it to the end. That's big. Right now essentially Deetster and I are warring to get Cam and Kenya to want to keep us and both probably feel we're closer to them than the other. If he takes me out, he'll have won the war and beat me fairly. That's hard to do in these games, and I wouldn't have anything to criticize really with his game.

2. Bryan is under-the-radar to the point where most people aren't considering him a legitimate threat to win, but at the same time, he'll be the person from Snozzwanger I want to see win the most if I get voted out this round. His strategy is perfectly legit, and as long as he's able to confirm this and say what he did, know he was safe so that he didn't have to try too hard while not disappearing, and so forth, he's my pick to win against anyone except Deetster. I don't think he can win, but I like strategies like his assuming he actually is doing what I think he is, and I'm excited to see him over these next few rounds step it up.

3. Cam is playing too many sides, and while he's good at it, you can't just act like you care about everyone and will bring them to the end and betray them all...and expect to win. Because people will be bitter, that's clear in these games. His strategy is semi-effective though because his name is simply non-existent from a target standpoint. I still might end up voting for him to win, but I need to make sure he WAS keeping everything under consideration and making the best moves possible for whatever reason.

4. Sadie tries to come off as honest, but she can also play dirty and scramble. She's not doing a very good job as most of the cast knows what she's doing because she's talking to too many people who are talking to each other. I guess she doesn't realize how incredibly close Cam, Deet, and Kenya are and that what she tells Deet goes to Cam and Kenya, which goes to me. Still, I love talking to her, and if what she does works for whatever reason, I'll consider voting for her to win.

5. Kenya, if I'm voted out here and she doesn't foresee it, will be the person who I will least want to win if I'm ousted. Why...because in trying to make a move with no strategic benefit but to look better in front of one of her friends and the jury...would end up costing me the game. Plus I don't think the dirty strategy to get Deetster out combined with keeping her word will be something the jury thinks positively of anyway. It just looks random and hypocritical which is why if I go to the finals, I think she'd be the person who I could most easily beat. Woo for the epic underdog (in her eyes, I imagine she doesn't think I have a chance of winning) coming out nowhere to beat her. But yeah, I just really don't foresee her winning the game even with her mad social skills, but I could be wrong.

So now I know that Deet's trying to get Sadie to vote for me and may vote for me himself. But here's to hoping that Cam and Kenya are able to convince him to vote for Sadie so it's 3-2-1 with just Sadie voting for me, Deet and Kenya voting for Sadie, and me, Bryan, and Cam voting for Deet. That's what would work best for me even though the past-vote will also be costly.

Have I mentioned I'm frustrated with that? She's just so overconfident that her plan is brilliant and going to work and maybe herself look like some evil genius with a heart that she's seemingly not even taking into consideration that the person who seems closest to her (except for maybe Bryan) is in major danger as a result of this decision. It's just so frustrating. She's got a good chance of going to the final two if I'm ousted which is good if that's her plan to get me sent home, but if I go home and she doesn't foresee it, then just ugh. I've been in games with her where she was overconfident in her influence of others, screwed up, and it cost me as a result. This better not be another one.

I'm so tempted to just completely destroy the sense that Cam and Kenya have of controlling the game and vote out Kenya with Deet and Sadie, have Bryan and Cam vote Deet and Kenya vote Sadie so that Kenya goes home 3-2-1. I certainly wouldn't actually do that because it would look bad and make me an almost definite target to go home next round if it worked, but I feel like I'm capable of it. Yet I'm making the smart move by simply laying low and letting things play how they will since I'll likely be safe with the plan we have now.

Deetster's being so cheesy with me and fake since it's obvious he's lying as I know that Cam and Kenya aren't. It's just a question of whether or not he realizes I know he's lying and he's lying to make me think he isn't in control when he really is. I'd say my chances of staying are now 60-40, but developments could occur still. Sadie getting on and scrambling would be the worst. I've already resigned to getting her past-vote this round and maybe Deetster's; I just need to SURVIVE the round.

So I'm talking to Deet and Sadie gets on. Deet signs off immediately. I'm talking to Sadie and she asks about the vote. I don't know what to say. I tell Cam. Then Sadie has to go and Cam goes mobile within minutes. These are typically not good signs. I could be screwed because Cam and Sadie just had a conversation. It could be Deet-Sadie-Cam voting me with the other votes split and me going home. Or Deet could vote for Sadie and I could still be saved even if Cam turns. Ugh. I'm not confident at all. This is so confusing. I'm on top of it all, but sometimes that's not enough.

I have 68 minutes until the vote, so this will be my last paranoid-sounding post. You know, I've tried as hard as I can to stay without trying too hard. If everyone's true to their word, I'll be safe and this whole thread will look like paranoid nonsense. If not, I'll know I was right to be concerned. Quite frankly, I'm ready for this round to be over with and move on.
