Round 2 has started. Nothing new has developed, and I'm currently working on the challenge and deciding what extent I should participate in this.

Thoughts on Chat

I wasn't even planning on talking to Cam anymore last night, but I think I half-deliriously IMed him and emphasized my concerns over this challenge and the other tribe beating us plus my concern over being targeted for being a threat. If I could do it again, I wouldn't have stressed my concern over that because it just makes me sound paranoid.

Based on the post indicator, the other tribe has hundreds of candies already and who knows if they edited their posts. I'm going to go for the win here, but I don't know if I'll be enough to win it for the tribe. We need more people posting...*sigh* I"m still going for this but I have a feeling it won't be enough to win it for the tribe or individually...

I have a strong feeling that all my effort in this challenge will go to waste. We won't win it as a tribe and I won't win it individually. I tried my best and I've utilized all the different candy types that I can think of, so we'll just see what happens. If I lose, I won't mind.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated by the lack of communication with my tribe mates. Where are these people?! They sign onto the board and post and sometimes show up on AIM for a minute and then disappear, but I just haven't been able to communicate with them like I'm used to in a game. I can't to talk to people and strategize, and it's frustrating not being able to do this. I almost want to go to tribal council to kill some dead weight, but I don't know if I should feel comfortable enough to do that or not.

I found a website with maybe 150 more images that all fall in the category of obscure, but since Travis said he posted obscure ones, I didn't know whether or not I should have used them. So I'm stopping. The end. It would be great to win, but I'm not expecting it.

So we lost, and I was 2nd --- Ben beat me for the top score on the other tribe. I could've beat him, but it would have taken more of my time from me yesterday and I had already done so much. I also didn't want to risk doing any more because they may have overlapped and it would have hurt the tribe. I doubt anyone's mad at me since I did so much more than anyone else.

Thoughts on Chats
It's really a good idea to get a group of 4 together so that we can control the tribe, and Kenya's now set up one with me, Bryan, and Cam. Cam (and Kenya, too, a little) were talking off-topic for pretty much all of the chat. I was being more serious and trying to get the point, but it was really challenging. Hopefully that means that we're all a big, comfortable group and doesn't mean that Cam's not completely into the alliance. I'm a little scared by his lack of seriousness in there, though. We didn't talk to Bryan about it yet, but it's just incredibly important that this group of 4 is solid and sticks together for my game. Ultimately I think it will work for a few rounds at least as long as we have weaklings to oust, but who knows what will happen long term.

Sarah is the clear and obvious target right now, and I think Cam is confusing her association with Pete as being an association with Jonathan. Deetster, Pete, and Sarah even worked together to protect all three of them when we were saving each other before tribes were chosen. So by voting out Sarah we will eliminate a weak link and also cut off some connections that can be exploited later. I don't want to give Deetster anything more than he already has to work with. I'm scared that his tribe (thanks to TWO trips to the glass elevator now) will be able to take advantage of whatever they find there and use it to obliterate my current tribe. That's why it is important for me to be strongly linked to as many people as possible.

Ugh, I haven't been able to talk to Jonathan, Sarah, or Travis yet. I can't isolate Travis, so I just sent him a wacky PM, knowing that he's already interacting with Kenya.

This is Brant from OPS4. I thought I'd introduce myself since we haven't had an opportunity to talk yet. I'm 21, a college student, and am majoring in computer science. This summer I'm taking classes and doing some small freelancing projects.

I love the theme of the game and everyone who I've talked to so far! So much chocolate! Maybe it's just me, but it seems so quiet right now. I hope it picks up when we take these inactive people out. Wait, what?! HOW does Travis know the majority is voting for Sarah when I haven't seen him on AIM at all and he just showed up on the board? I'll have to hope it's Kenya who told him and that he's not closely aligned with anyone else. It's a positive that we're talking and on the same page, but I don't like how he's so informed. I want to be the one to keep him in touch with what's happening, and someone's beating me to the punch. Hopefully it's just Kenya.

Someone beat me to Travis, so I'm going to Pete to try to get him on my side. Will he explode if he's close to Sarah? Will this somehow backfire on me? Maybe! But I think Pete's bound to understand why we're voting for Sarah, and hopefully he'll appreciate me telling him. I'd rather do something like this while trying to make a good long-term move than just ignore Pete. We're going to be down to 15 players, which isn't a lot, so it's never too early to think about long-term moves. And Pete's a person who might be needed later. I'll also PM Bryan to keep in touch even though I'll probably end up just driving him insane. And finally, I need to let Kenya know what I'm doing so that she has the full range of information.

Everything looks good with this upcoming vote. I don't understand why Jonathan is ignoring me, but at least I know that it's Kenya keeping Travis informed and not someone else. So let me make my predictions on how things will go down:

Brant, Bryan, Cam, Kenya, Travis will vote for Sarah.
Jonathan will vote for Pete (maybe Sarah?).
Pete will self-vote for Pete (maybe Sarah?).
Sarah will self-vote for Sarah.

So Sarah will go home with between 6 and 8 of the 8 votes, and Pete should get the rest. I'll always be a little paranoid, but this is one of those votes where I should be safe. Someone may throw their vote my direction, but that only means I'll have 1-2 votes max and it's unlikely.

Thoughts on Chats
Now at this point, I'm on the verge of going all Russell Hantz and making alliances with everyone that I can't possibly keep. As witnessed on the show, if you're able to effectively make everyone like you (kinda) and think you're working with them, then you get information from all sides and can make the smartest strategic moves possible. But then you end up hurting almost all of the jury when you betray them, and they dislike you for it at final tribal council. Even if you end up winning the game, it's just not a very positive, happy-feeling victory. I've done that in games before, and it's worked, but I don't want to do it again.

So I'm going to try to be a good person and responsibly handle these relationships and the deals that I've made with people. I now have a four-person alliance with Bryan, Cam, and Kenya. I have separate friendships with Pete and Jonathan, while I've only had a single message exchange with Travis. Travis is the person I want to see gone because I don't owe him anything, but I don't see how I can make that happen yet. So unless I think that Travis can go home, we need to keep winning challenges so I don't have to go morally gray with anyone. It's going to happen at some point, but I need to work really hard to handle relationships as best as possible. Jonathan and Pete both seem like really nice guys, and I hope the games works out so that we're able to stick together.

So who does Pete want out?! I want to know really bad, hahahaha. I'm guessing it's Kenya just because Kenya didn't seem that interested in protecting Pete, but I could be wrong.
