Welcome, Leaders, to your final 6 challenge. I have traced the political borders of several countries (or states or provinces) and placed the shapes on top of each other so that their borders are harder to identify. The image above is the result.
Points to note:
* All countries are North-oriented.
* Countries are NOT at the correct scale in relationship to each other
* Some countries are comprised of multiple islands...keep this in mind.
* U.S. states and Canadian provinces are fair game!
SCORING:
1. Identify the country, state, or province. I won't say how many there are. If you've identified them all, you'll know it. (+1 pt for each)
2. Name the largest city (by population in 2009) in each country, state or province. (+1 pt for each)
3. If you place a dot in the correct location of the capital of each of the countries, states, or provinces, it produces which shape? (+1 pt)
4. Post the image described above with the dots in place. (+1 pts)
To do this, start a new thread in your journal entitled "IC 13 - map challenge." Place all of your answers inside one post! Multiple posts will not be accepted!!!
WINNING:
The player with the highest score after 24 hours will win. If there is a tie, the player who returned the challenge the quickest will win. If a player returns a perfect score and we are online to see it, we will notify you that the challenge is over, otherwise, at the latest the challenge is due Thursday, June 3rd at 10pm EST (9pm CST).

| "North-oriented" means all of the countries above look exactly as they would on a map. North is up, south is down. I haven't spun or rotated any of the countries in any way.
Also, since this appears to be stumping everyone, I will just go ahead and let you know there are a total of 10 countries, states, or provinces. If you have absolutely no clue about any of them, guess, but do not submit more than 10 countries or you will be disqualified.
If you correctly identify the countries and place their capitals in the correct location, you WILL see what shape the dots make, otherwise, again, feel free to guess what that shape may be.
For question 4 all im asking is that you actually then copy the image into a paint program and place the dots (capitals) where they belong and then repost it.
I have to run to work now but I will check here when i get there to see if there are any more questions... | |
