Bill's Diary Room ~ IC#1: Bill vs. the Asteroid.

"This isn't how I wanted to start my night," thought Bill looking up into the sky as the huge rock burned it's way into earth's atmosphere.

All week long all the fine citizens of Bon Temps have talked about was the news of the impending asteroid strike predicted by Nasa, even Bill caught the hysteria, packing his basement full of True Blood, in case the worst happened.

Looking down at the broken door, and the few smashed bottles he realized there was something he didn't plan for... looters.

So, now, with the asteroid merely minutes away from impacting the earth, with experts predicting storms, floods, tidal waves and earthquakes, Bill was a vampire with no easy way to feed his thirst.

That is how Bill found himself walking to Merlottes in the middle of the night when the asteroid, nicknamed Wormwood, struck the earth about 100 miles off the coast of Cape Fear, North Carolina.

BOOM!

The impact knocked Bill to his knees, scraping them on the ground and momentarily causing him pain, and a bit of confusion... I didn't expect to feel the impact that strongly her in Bon Temps, Bill thought.

Bill stood up, brushing the grass off his legs, and started walking again, when he heard a sound like hail hitting the ground just behind him.

Bill started to turn around, but was hit by shower of small hard objects... rocks, bits of glass, and what seemed like bones fell around him like rain, piercing his skin.

Bill ran, the hard rain shredding the skin from his face and arms, only a mile to to Merlottes, but it may be the longest mile of his long, long life.

Running faster than humanly possible, Bill barely noticed it when the ground started to undulate and crack, and trees began falling all around him.

Hurdling obstacles in a blink of an eye, finally Bill found himself in front of an abandoned Merlotte's which looked to be shaking like an infant's toy.

Bill ripped the front door off the bar, and entered, seemingly just in time as a wave of water slammed into the side of the bar, spraying Bill with a foul smelling mist.

Entering Merlottes, Bill paused to remove the bits of the hard rain still stuck in his skin, and watched as the wounds began instantly healing, then walked towards the back of the bar to search for True Blood.

Searching the bar, and the back rooms, as the bar shook and the hard rain beat on it's roof, Bill was able to find one single bottle of True Blood, type AB-, which was his least favorite of all.

So, with the world crumbling around him and the sky darkening steadily, Bill sat down, kicked up his feet and slowly drank his warm True Blood, considering what this changed world will do for Vampires.... and Sookie.
