Hey everyone!! I've missed you all a ton and can't wait to get re-involved with this fantastic community
I had a wonderful time away at NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). The course was 3 months long, broken up into 5 sections: Hiking in the Wind River Range (WY), WFR (Wilderness First Responder) training at NOLS' 3 Peaks Ranch in Boulder (WY), Climbing in Red Rocks (NV), Canyon Section in Utah's vast canyons, and finally a Winter section in the Wyoming Range.
The course was AMAZING, and an extremely rewarding and valuable experience. I learned tons of specific outdoor skills, but the best part was really learning what it means to be a leader and be confident. I learned lots about myself too, and definitely did a lot of growing up out there. Plans for the near future include getting my EMT (I loved the NOLS WFR), and possibly fighting forest fires out west this summer.
Here are just a few pics from the course...the rest are on my facebook.
We wore hunting vests for protection (hunting season!)

Me and my crazy friend Michelle, picked this one to show my buff!
We had an ice cream drop (from a freakin airplane!) in our canyon section
Neil and Jen in our snow kitchen! Behind them is our quigloo that we lived in. You can see the door under Neil's left arm.
