| Me and my mom used to work at the same store. So on Facebook, we have some mutual friends from that.
Anyways, my mom made some status about doing something with her "daughter", so I replied saying that was impossible, since I was in England. Obviously she was talking about my sister, but still. We had a few posts back and forth, where I played the ignored middle child. I stand by the fact that I AM the ignored middle child, but when I bring it up with my parents, it's in an inside joke kind of way, not in a "pity me because my life sucks" way.
So this girl from that store starts commenting about how ridiculous I was, and blah blah blah. And THEN, she posts on my mom's wall, being all "Your daughter is so beside herself! What brought it on?" as if they're going to have some deep conversation about me, which is showing up on my newsfeed. If she wanted to know what my problem was (not that there really IS a problem), why wouldn't she message my mom about it? Why put it on her wall for me to see? And I've realized similar things have happened multiple times to me. I even complained about like, all of them on here, at one point or another, lmao. Which brings me to the conclusion that I have to stop joking with my parents on Facebook. Every time I do, random people take me seriously, and then judge me, which just pisses me off and turns a long line of joking comments into ones full of anger.

| Ick, that's annoying. People need to gtfo of your life. And yeah a PM is much more appropriate than a public feed post.
On a similar note, I once posted that I had broken my nose, because it was part of a scenario for EMT school. I thought people understood that, and that it was a joke in a sense, but no. My sister was like OMG ARE YOU OKAY?!

| Omgggggg, I seriously just want to delete half the people on my Facebook. Please, tell me if this status sounds rude at all:
"Everyone I passed today was wearing winter boots and a jacket. I was in a t-shirt and flip flops. Thanks for preparing me, Canada."
An innocent observation, right?
Well, my aunt's reply:
"oh i get it Jess, Canada prepared you to be a sarcastic cow about a country that lets you live and work here even though you were not even born here......mmmmm sounds to me like England got the raw deal, ease up slagging my country off Jess."
Uhhhhh, excuse me? Was I putting down England at all? Was my status even sarcastic? In England, "cow" is basically a watered down version of "bitch". So really, if you look at these comments, my own aunt just called me a bitch for commenting on the fact Canada's weather is worse.

| So, I complained to my mom about my dad's family constantly making these awful accusations against me, despite the fact we barely know each other, and you know what she said? "Think before you post on Facebook."
I'm not going to think, "Hmmm... I'm about to comment on the weather getting cooler... Oh, I'm sure that would offend someone. Better not post it!"
Even my own mother is making this out to be MY fault.

| That is...do rediculously dumb, how is that at all an insult or anything. Though if you woulda been talkin bout America or something, you already know the deal, and I'd be all on top of you about that quicker than cheese on an omlette on a saturday afternoon. Yeah. | |

| My whole family is fighting over this now. It's the most ridiculous thing ever. I made a comment about the friggin' WEATHER, and my family is LITERALLY being torn apart over this! I mean, I can't even bring myself to be angry anymore. I just want to go find her and give her the biggest eye roll in history. | |

| Apologies for continuing to complain about this, but it has reached a new low;
Apparently I have to try to fix things with my aunt without my dad even so much as hearing anymore about this disagreement, because since he has high blood pressure, the argument is making it peak.
A recap for you all: My observation of the weather has forced my father's health to decline.
As a general rule, I don't swear. But how fucking messed up is this.

| Yeah sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, even though it's completely ridiculous. I have to do that with my mom all the time. She gets upset over the dumbest things ever, and I just have to say "I'm sorry". Then she's fine, and everything's cool again. Sounds like the same situation with you. Your aunt is totally nuts, but if you just swallow your pride, things should get better. | |

| Ugh, and now my dad just sent me this long email about it, talking about how he can't talk to my aunt, because he knows THEY'LL stop talking for ten years, just like what happened with him and his other sister.
Granted, it made me feel a bit better that he said they'd only end up stop talking because he'd bitch her out over what she said to me, and he knows she wouldn't forgive him for that.
THIS is why I have such a hard time with my dad's family. With my mom's family, the last family argument was between my grandma and my grandpa's brother, back in the 60s, because he borrowed a ton of money without paying it back. But with my DAD'S family!? I swear, every day there's a new family member being arrested, leaving the country out of angry, or trying to destroy the lives of others.
I didn't (as far as I can tell) inherit a single trait from that family. My dad, brother, and sister are the same as his whole family; quick to anger, quick to judge, and stubborn as hell. I'm the only one who is through-and-through from my mom's side; passive, non-confrontational, and willing to work through problems, rather than waiting until ALL is said and done, at which point it's nearly impossible to repair.
It's just insane, because I'm the last person in my family anyone would expect to get into one of these "family feuds." And now my parents keep going all "Are you HAPPY!?" and trying to figure out if I'm depressed or some crap, and I'm just like "OBVIOUSLY I'M NOT HAPPY! I'm friggin' pissed off over all of this!"

I can't believe this is all still going on.

| Ugh, now my dad is talking about how I was "unloved as a child" because it's an ongoing inside joke. He seems to think that since his sister believes it's true, I must as well, despite the fact I've been in on the joke since I was four.
But this statement of his made me laugh: "I’m sure you also know that the tone in my voice and the tone of the conversation was jovial (meaning teasing)"
Dad... you haven't been in school since you were 16, and you're 50 now. I was in school last year. Why are you giving me a vocabulary lesson? It's not a hard word.

| I just want to bump this, because two of my great aunts (my nana's sisters) were always extremely competitive, and they would always get into fights, etc. Anyways, when Nana died, one of them was extremely paranoid that we were trying to make it so that she would miss out on her sister's funeral. We weren't of course, but apparently that's what they thought was happening. Dad found this incredibly funny (it was Mum's mother that died), so when she arrived at the funeral, he put on a surprised face and said, "Oh, you found out?" | |
