Good job on completing week one, everyone!! :D I lost 2 pounds, which is decent, but then I saw that Doug lost 4, and got rather jealous.
But anyways, I thought as a bit of motivation, I'd include this video, since Doug and I both love ShayCarl. And ShayCarl is currently trying to ShayLoss.
So, want your tasks for this week? Heeeeeere we go!!
Work out three times this week
Go a day without eating meat
Find out how many consecutive push ups/sit ups you can do
Try five yoga poses
Have cold showers
Now, I think I should explain the cold shower one. You don't need to freeze for the whole time. But each time you shower, finish up, then turn the water as COLD as is can go, and stand under it for one full minute. Once your minute is up, jump out and towel off. DON'T put warm/hot water on yourself for half an hour, or else it makes it pointless. But what happens is that when you suddenly get REALLY cold, your body freaks out a bit. It thinks it's going to freeze to death if the temperature doesn't heat up. So, to try to help, it quickly raises your core temperature. But the only way it can produce natural heat inside your body is to burn fat. So give it a try!
Good luck this week, everyone!

ShayCarl
I find it demeaning how he calls his kids baby tards or whatever. And his followers are Shaytards. He used to do shows on BlogTV all the time, not sure if he still does or not. That site is for people that are self-absorbed. I'm sure he's a nice guy, just not for me.
And omg a day without meat I might die. But I do love yoga!

His kids are Sontard, Princesstard, and Babytard. Mommytard/Katilette is preggers right now too XD But he just didn't want to use his kid's real names, for privacy reasons. So when Shaytards caught on, so did those names.
But I actually adore Shay <3
And a day without meat? Psssssh, soooo easy

Im not a vegetarian and I never will be. I wont cut meat out of my diet and I doubt my husband would either. If it's so easy to cut meat out for a day, why not try eating meat for a day?
(not that easy is it?)

I have eaten meat for a day before, though, lol. And physically, it's not hard... well, technically it would now for me, since after not eating meat for a few years, one's stomach can't suddenly handle it.
But I don't eat meat for ethical reasons. Not because eating meat is too hard. Changing your diet is a lot easier than changing your morals.
(And sorry if that sounded really defensive, lol. I've just dealt with five too many years of people insulting my vegetarianism and trying to make me feel like crap for having an opinion)

I should also mention that I'm not trying to impose my views on everyone, since that task was Doug's idea, not mine. I feel it will be more accepted coming from someone who eats meat, lol

One day is so short. That was a really surprising reaction to the task :\ I'll bet every person here has gone a day without meat and not even known it. Meat should only be a small portion of what you eat in the first place. An extremely easy day without meat:
Breakfast:
Cereal, yogurt, fruit, and toast (that's a huge breakfast)
Lunch:
Grilled cheese, tomato/vegetable soup, maybe a small salad, and some cookies/crackers
Dinner:
Pasta/spaghetti with marinara/alfredo sauce Breadstick or two Vegetable side (broccoli, carrots, peas, etc.)
Dessert:
Pretty much anything
If you really couldn't do this, you're nuts. We're not trying to convert you or anything.
you should only be eating 3oz of cooked meat in a meal. That's one serving. It's like barely anything at all, but it gives you all the protein that you need...you can get the same effects from eating the same of cheese or other dairy products instead. However, meat is the 'healthiest' source of your protein...even tofu has more calories than certain meats.

Also all I was trying to say was, if you eat the proper portion of meat in a meal, or rather the proper portion of protein in a meal you wouldn't really miss it if you substituted it for another protein...of course that means if you were doing this right you wouldn't have meat AND cheese or bacon AND eggs or anything like that. You would only be eating 3oz of cooked meat or 3oz of cheese or I think it's 2 eggs. You get the idea.
I'm not a vegetarian but if you really followed that as a rule it would be really easy, because one day you might want to have eggs for breakfast and a grilled cheese for lunch, and boom, you've already almost done it. All you need is some baked ziti for dinner and you've had no meat at all. It actually is really easy. I went without eating meat for a semester on a bet, it was such a non issue after the 3rd week. Of course when it was all over I went to Plataforma Churrascaria on someone else's dime...so...win! There also MIGHT have been some intercourse involved...so really everybody won.
I am not that good, by the way, I will cook the proper amount of meat for like a hamburger...but it's always going to become a cheeseburger...it just is. And I'm sorry...but there's no such thing as a CHEESE sandwich or a ham sandwich that doesn't also contain cheese. You're a liar if you think otherwise, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I don't consciously eat "vegetarian," I really just dont eat a lot of meat. Because I don't like it. -pause for sexual comment-
I do eat chicken a lot, so that would really be the one drawback.
I'm totally going to list my meals for the past 2 days because they are ridiculous.
Yesterday: A PB&J uncrustable and Volcano nachos from Taco Bell.
Today: All I've had so far is half of a peanut butter and banana "empanada" which was basically a wrap cut in 4 pieces xD It was amazing though. And a watermelon candy cane. Forgot about that xD I'll probably eat the other half before my next class, but then I have 2 meetings [where I could clearly eat but probably wont]. I'll most likely end up ordering a pizza or something with people tonight though.
Also, trying to actually get into the swing of things here at The Biggest Loser, I've been trying to walk more and I've been going up the humongous hill to get to my dorm instead of going around it xD
I don't like to eat meat either, it really creeps me out, especially when it is raw. I hate touching it and it took me a long time before I could actually look at the meat aisle in the grocery store.
I would cut it out, but I think it would be too hard to get enough healthy protein and there is no way I am eating stuff like tofu. I tried lentils once, I was not a fan.

I don't understand when people say they don't like it. Tofu DOESN'T HAVE A TASTE! lmao, it's like a sponge. It sucks up the flavour of whatever you cook it with. And as for the texture, it's so versatile. You can buy soft, medium, firm, or extra firm. I don't like it if it's not extra firm.
Vegetarianism still going strong; I've done it before though, so I know I'll be okay. My best goal (and accomplishment) was 100 days. This time there's no goal in mind. It's just as long as I go.
Anyway, I ran twice this week so far (a mile each time), and I'm going to run tomorrow.
I can feel myself losing weight. It's strange. I'm interested to see if I did actually lose anything this week or if it's just me feeling better.
