Jessica's Diary Room ~ Immunity Challenge 1

Jessica woke up one evening to a rumbling deep beneath Bon Temps that shook her right out of her coffin and onto the damp dirt of the ground under Bill’s house.

She picked herself up and moved the floorboards above her, springing into the closet she was concealed beneath, and outside.

It was then she realized it wasn't evening at all, the sun was peaking through curtains all around her.

Jessica stayed in the shadows as best she could, moving quickly around the spots of light.

It was even more difficult with the entire house shaking around her, moving the curtains so the light was never staying still.

Jessica had never experiences an earthquake before and as she ran through the house she was more afraid than she had ever been, even more than when she was captured by vampires and turned into one of them.

If the earthquake shook the house down around her she would have no protection from the sun’s rays, she would burn to death.

That’s when Jessica remembered a story she had heard once from Sookie about Bill burrowing underground to sleep for a day when he thought he was in danger of being set upon by the town while he slept.

Jessica raced back to the closet and underneath the floorboards.

She clawed at the earth under her normal sleeping area, but it was packed too tightly for her to get through.

The ceiling above Jessica began to collapse a little, a piece of wood broke off and came crashing down at her torso.

The wood pierced her flesh but thankfully it was just to the right of what would be a much more fatal blow, while pulling it out Jessica realized what it was she had to do.

Jessica burst out of the closet and out of Bill’s house running with supernatural speed into the trees surrounding her.

She felt like she was on fire but she had to make it to the Compton family graves, the dirt would be soft enough there for her to jump right into and cover herself quick enough that the sun couldn’t touch her.

When Jessica reached the graves she shot like a torpedo beneath the earth of one of the Compton’s resting places, she was safe in the earthquake but she thought for the rest of the day about everyone and especially Hoyt, hoping that he and the rest of her friends were safe too.
