the good thing about the supposed Venom spin-off is that Topher Grace is not involved and it'll have no connection to the crap story in Spider-Man 3

Sooo...what is it going to be about? What's his origin going to be for the spin-off? I'm curious as to what kind of story it'll even be.

I think I'm still irritated either way, because Spider-man 3 should have been good enough that we shouldn't have to say "Thank god it won't be attached to the storyline." Sometimes I'm just completely lost as to what writers/directors/producers are thinking when they make movies...

well I blame Sam Raimi for making SP3 so bad because he hates Venom but the studio forced it into the movie. So he put it in but kept it to a minimum. He wanted Sandman mostly. I feel if he had just made a venom based movie it would have been a lot better, then he could have done Sandman for the next movie, hopefully he doesn't make the same mistake again.

Though they are taking a beloved character and changing her in the new one.

Yeah, I read an interview where Raimi talked about the studio pressure to include Venom, and I was apalled, because when he explained what the movie was supposed to be about (like the theme), Venom ruined the whole thing. I guess it was supposed to be about how no one is always bad or always good; it's too hard to make such distinctions. It made sense, because you had Spider-man in the symbiote suit (which woulda been a disaster no matter what, because they completely fucked that up) being an asshole, and two villains that were arguably acting for non-malicious reasons. Sandman clearly was acting out of love for his daughter, and you could feel for him; Harry was acting out of confusion and revenge. Everything was turned upside down, and I think that's awesome.

Then you add Venom who pretty much embodies a modern-day Vice, where there is no concern for the damage and destruction he causes. He creates the villain that simply embodies evil...which just fucks it all up, because he doesn't fit the good-guys-go-bad/bad-guys-go-good thing.

Plus Venom referred to himself as "I/me/my" which just pissed me off.

Oh Christ. W:O2 will undoubtedly be bad, because the first was pretty big heap, and X-Men: The New Class could be good...but it won't. I'm sure they'll find a way to fuck it up.

So irritating. There should really be no such thing as a bad movie considering all the research that goes into these things...

Also the Deadpool movie will probably happen for 2011, it just isn't scheduled yet. Wolvering: Origins 2 will be so bad because it's going to be that awful period with Wolverine in Japan which is just boring.

X-Men The New Class I was excited for because it was supposed to be a 'new' continuity and was being written by the guy who does Gossip Girl and The O.C. which would have been interesting............but now Brian Singer got his grubby claws in it and wants to tie it into X-Men which will make it terrible.

Oh that's right...the Deadpool Movie. Still amazed that DC and Marvel don't put in their contracts that actors/actresses can't work with the other studio for X number of years.

I am happy that Brian Singer is doing X-Men The New Class because the first two movies were great. The only ones that weren't good are the ones he didn't participate in (X-Men 3, Wolverine)

I still haven't seen Wolverine, since they shoved his character down our throats in the first three movies I'm really not that interested in seeing this movie

Don't worry, it's not very good. Wait for cable imo.

As for Brian Singer, I see your point. I'm still wary though, simply because of what's happened since X2.

I thought X-Men was okay...it was too cheesy though, and they still did things to characters that are just unforgivable...the 2nd movie was just more of the same for me, especially everything with Lady Deathstrike was just terrible. 3 was obviously cinematic abortion...but I was looking forward to a completely fresh start with the X-Men and having Brian Singer trying to make it meet up with the first X-Men movie just doesn't give it any room to grow and become it's own franchise which is what they should do with it. If Brian Singer allows that I'll be more excited for it. But as of right now I hope the project either changes hands again or never happens.
