| I got Under the Dome for Christmas, because I really like Stephen King, and I know someone (I think Ryan) said that they really liked him too. Also, I know Mo read the Dark Tower series within the past couple years or so. What all have you read? I only started reading his stuff a couple years ago, so I haven't read a whole lot, but I've read (in order of most favorite to least favorite): 1. The Shining - Incredible book, very good miniseries, terrible movie. One of the three books I can say actually scared me. 2. Pet Semetary - As I told many people when I finished it: nearly a perfect book. Another of the the three books that actually scared me. Probably moreso than did The Shining. 3. On Writing - I know this hardly counts as it's a memior/writing guide, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. 4. Rage 5. The Long Walk 6. The Running Man 7. Bag of Bones 8. Roadwork I own a bunch of his books too, but I rarely have time during the schoolyear to just sit down and read them. I don't like being able to devote time to the book I'm reading, so I have these sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read: Under the Dome The Stand Desperation The Regulators Thinner Dark Tower I I think that's it for now... | |

| Let me save you some time, you can burn The Regulators, Thinner, and Desperation.
I read a lot of Stephen King's books and then I wonder why once I'm done. I saw The Dark Tower all the way through only to be greeted with the most ridiculous shit in the 7th book that made me just hate the man more than anything else. Let me think...
The Shining Carrie Christine Gerald's Game (best one) The Gunslinger (DT1) The Drawing Of Three (DT2) The Waste Lands (DT3) Wizard And Glass (DT4) Wolves Of Calla (DT5) Song Of Susannah (DT6) The Dark Tower (DT7) Insomnia (biggest waste of time of my life) The Stand The Regulators Thinner Cujo Desperation The Long Walk Cell - where I swore I would never read Stephen King again
and I'm currently reading Under The Dome (yes, yes, I'm crazy)

| Why did you read Cell? I have next to no desire to read that book, and I want to read pretty much all of his stuff. As for Insomnia, I'm pretty sure King thinks it's crap too. I dunno where I saw it, but he said somewhere that it was overworked or he tried too hard or something to that extent. And you can't quit reading him yet. You haven't read Pet Semetary. | |

| I've read: The Shining (agree on this being a great book, really liked the mini-series too, not crazy about the movie though)
Carrie (really good book, equally as good as the movie in my opinion - also just got this book for christmas so I'm going to reread it soon)
Needful Things (a lot of people don't like this book but I did, want to reread it too though)
honestly that's all I can remember reading off the top of my head, though I know I've read more. I know I own quite a few of his books: Hearts In Atlantis It Pet Semetary Salem's Lot
I think I have one of the Dark Tower books as well, just haven't read it in forever. Oh and I have the script book to Storm of The Century.

| STEPHEN KING<3 I have read: It Misery 'Salems Lot Pet Sematary Desperation Everythings Eventual The Long Walk The Shining Four Past Midnight Dreamcatcher Carrie Not all of them were extremely well done, in my opinion, but the man never ceases to entertain me. I'm not easily creeped out, but a lot of the imagery he sets forth freak me out. Major love to The Shining, 'Salems Lot, Pet Sematary. | |

| Oh right, I did read Pet Semetary...it was eh. Also Salem's Lot and It. I hated It. Insomnia was the book that he forced everyone who was reading The Dark Tower to read by saying it was going to be directly tied into the end of the story...and then when he wrote the last book decided that it wasn't really. | |
