PostSubject: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks   The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks EmptyTue Dec 08, 2009 1:51 pm

I just bought it last night!

I haven't played it yet, because I had a Spanish exam today that I had to study for...but now that I've taken my Spanish exam, I'm thinking I might pop that game in and give it a whirl. The first DS Zelda game (Phantom Hourglass) is my favorite hand-held game of all time, and I've heard this one's even better, so I'm pretty. fucking. stoked.

Did anyone play the first one? What'd you think?

Does anyone else have Spirit Tracks already??

PS - We should have a video game forum!!

Is it only for DS? Because the handheld Zelda games fail, in my opinion. It's all about the N64, lol

Yes, it's only for DS. Luckily Nintendo doesn't do this crap where they release "the same game" for multiple systems...

And puh-lease you couldn't be more wrong...

Considering the original handhelds were the same format as the original Zelda games for NES and SNES (the latter being one of the best Zelda games ever), they are NOT fail. Link's Awakening (Gameboy) was fucking awesome, and the Oracles Games (Gameboy Color, developed by Capcom) were also brilliant.

Ocarina of Time is definitely a great game, but we're long past that game. Sure, it revolutionized the market, but that doesn't make it immune from the fact that people have outdone it. Wind Waker (Gamecube) is waaay better than either of the N64 games.

Razz

Oh, and the DS Zelda games are completely different than any Zelda game on GB or GBA.

I love Majora's Mask.

I think I'm the only one who actually loves that game.

I loved it too! That game had the most intricate side quests with the mask book or whatever that was that made it easy to keep track of them. So much fun! The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks 967846

Every time I tell someone I love Majora's Mask, people make fun of me. So upsetting, hahahaha. I just loved being able to turn into all the different people/creatures! I loved being a goron.

It's so good. So. Freakin. Good.

I was playing it while my buddy was studying, and it was driving him nuts, because I wouldn't let him see anything. He could hear it though, which made it even more entertaining, because he'd be like, "You just did something important..." I wouldn't confirm or deny anything though Smile

I hope to play it sometime. :-D I haven't played a new Zelda game since that windmaker one or whatever it was on gamecube. The one where Zelda was that pirate girl?

Is Ocrania of Time still the undisputed best or has an even better one come out?

Whoa, Wind Waker spoiler! Careful for those who haven't played it yet!!

And I'm sure that the vast majority of people still consider OoT the best. It's got massive nostalgia on its side. For people like me though who didn't play it until waaay later, I'd say that the newer ones are definitely better; not because OoT is flawed, but because the new games took what OoT did right and did even more.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to try some of them then. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks 204853 I don't currently own a gaming system but was considering getting a Wii. You can play gamecube games on the Wii right?

Yep! You need a Gamecube controller too. I love that feature of the Wii Razz I was able to sell my Gamecube and games I don't like, but keep the ones I do love (HARVEST MOON! <3 ).

lmao! You're a farmer. You farm. You get married. You continue to farm. You get your wife preggers (slash get pregnant yourself if you play the newest game or two, when you can chose to be a girl). Then, once your child is born, you force him/her to be be a farmer too. I love it. I demand for my son to wake up every day and do his "chores" (which is basically every boring task I don't want to do), and then I go into town and have fun.

It's honestly my FAVOURITE game. I have 3 versions for the DS, one for Gamecube, and one for Wii. I can't get enough of it, lol

Lmao, I LOVED Harvest Moon on N64. I played it a number of times, usually marrying the girl with the pink hair from the flower shop, lol. The little dorky town festivals were the best! Horses races, egg hunts, hot air ballooning with your girl, what more could you ask for?

The gamecube version didn't really have festivals, but they did have lots of amusing cut scenes with the girls and all the townsfolk once you befriended them. I kinda got confused with all of the crossbreeding plants stuff though. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks 845636 I was discouraged to even continue playing since I never felt I would be able to master all of that.

lol, I never had the N64 one. The GameCube one is the one I fell in love with. But my wife was a cheating alcoholic! I married the girl who worked at the bar, but after we got married, she kept wandering out of the house late at night, and whenever I'd talk to her, she'd be like "I think I'm going to go visit Griffin (the bartender)". And throughout the day, she'd leave our newborn son in his crib alone so she could go hang out with Griffin in the bar. She was always either IN the bar, or talking about Griffin.

The Wii one is my favourite though! There are SO many cut scenes with your girlfriend/boyfriend! My husband, Owen, was so sweet in all of them! He'd take me to watch fireflies and told me he loved me more than anything in the world, and he'd always blush and get all awkward, especially when he proposed! I'd constantly be awwing at him, and my mom and sister would just be watching me in disbelief. They'd always tell me to go get a real boyfriend instead of falling in love with my imaginary farmer's virtual boyfriend.

My roommate, who got Spirit Tracks, has beaten it, it took him a day. Apparently the game is VERY short.

I'm not surprised. The first one wasn't especially long. I've been limiting myself as to how much I play it each day for that very reason.

Spirit Tracks is actually not that bad. Superior to Phantom Hourglass in every way. It may be on a train, and sound a little kitsch, but it's actually quite interesting.
