Where The Red Fern Grows

I never knew there was a movie adaptation of this book! It was one of my favorite's from childhood, and I found the movie version today in the $5 bin at Walmart. I just finished watching it, and it's a touching story as ever. They changed the ending a little, but it's still good. Anyone ever read this book or by chance seen the movie?

When I was a child, i remember being at school, in the school library, i dont know what grade, 2nd? 3rd? Record players were still in existance lol My library teacher, made us listen to that story on a record as a whole class during library period twice a week, (her name was miss brickey and she always threatened to beat you on the head with a wet noodle, I always thought that was dumb, not funny). But yeah, As a kid I sat through someone narrating the story for us. The ending was terrible. So sad, what the hell, a story about doggies that doesnt end well. Sure give your kids nightmares. lol thanks Miss brickey.

But it DOES end well

Our reading assignment for the ending of that book was to read it with a parent. I think this was partly so they could comfort us, and explain it.

awww thats kind of sweet. I have never cried watching a movie or reading a book. I guess I know they are fake and written by people. It's always in the back of my mind when Im watching something or reading. Although I admit I have come close to crying a couple times watching movies. (Less than zero and top gun ) lololol

Um, used to watch Where The Red Fern Grows in grade school and I'm now 32, so those adaptations are old! lol
I love the book though, and the movie was pretty good. I cry almost at all sad movies... and books, and commercials! lol

Less than zero was an 80's movie starring: Jamie Gertz, Andrew McCarthy, Robert Downy Jr. and that dude James Spader? I think thats his last name.

I almost cried at a nature documentary with stupid animals running across the african land scapes I think it was a flock of birds and I couldn't figure out why the hell I was feeling so emotional over that.

OKAY... if we're gonna start sharing secrets... AMANDA!!! I got some to tell you guys, I've just got to think of them!

And yes, that pet commercial with the sick pets where Sarah McLaughlin ask you to adopt them.. ugh TEARS! Sometimes the cancer commercials get me..

And yes, okay, naked butts and for the record.. I still have a problem seeing nekkerds on tv!!!
