So, my Nan lives next door to my aunt/uncle/cousins, but they're in Canada with my family at the moment. My Nan hasn't been well on her own since my Grandad died, so I was worried about her spending three weeks with no one there. Being the kind and thoughtful granddaughter that I am, I called her up and asked if I could stay with her for the weekend. Her response? "Oh... well, I actually have plans with some friends. We're spending the weekend out on the town. How about another time?"
The worst part? It's not like I can be all "Okay then! As long as you're alright! I'll just go do my own thing!" Because I have no social life here. Visiting my Nan IS my social life. I'll be sitting at home, while she shops. I can deal with having no life. I just don't like being outdone by a 75 year old.
