I saw a commercial for that. I was very scared for all those normal people being subjected to rage chef.

Hahaha, oh man, Rage Chef isn't even the worst one. Believe it.

I love when people who actually work in fancy restaurants laugh at Ramsey because people think he is some sort of abnormality when really what he acts like is normal for a head chef, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ooohh you guys caught on to MasterChef!!! It's a wonderful series in Australia. It took over the Big Brother timeslot here and the second series reeled in 4.5 mil viewers (we have about 21 million people in Australia). Pretty big business when 25% of the country is watching!!! And it's not even sports, it's a reality TV show!

Daaaang! That's a huge percentage! Yeah, we just got it here. It seems so far to be just like Top Chef, which might be why it didn't hit here hard right away. Thing is, they've never had a show with this formula on regular network television, so there's still potential for it to do well.

My only thing is that for a "new" show that doesn't have any like...huge twists and turns (just meaning that it's pretty straightforward), they decided to split the selection in to two episodes. I dunno how well that'll go over, because the first episode didn't exactly scream "MUST WATCH NEXT WEEK" to me, because we don't have a cast :\

I mean, I'll watch it (hopefully I remember), but that's just the impression I got. Hopefully it doesn't well.

But isn't Top Chef like with actual Chefs and Master Chef is with just regular people? There's some cooking show on now with just regular people and Gordan Ramsay...I thought it was this one.

Yeah, that's the only difference, but so far it looks like the format for the competition is the same. They haven't said a whole lot though, so we'll see.

So you're basically saying that Top Chef is still the only cooking contest show worth watching?

I thought this eppy was better than the first, but its still kinda... bleh. I still have high hopes for it though!

I have watched first and second episode. I don't know what to take for it. It is great to see all these people who are great at cooking. The thing is though everyone seems to have a sob story or at least half of them have a sob story. Everyone has the idea that this is going to change them forever, but what happens when you get cut and you don't win? What are you going to do with yourself then?

I always think of that, it is great to visualize yourself at the end of the game winning, but sometimes you gotta think, well if this fails, where do I go? LOL I guess everyone will be the master chef in their eyes.

I knooow, there have been at least a handful of people who have said they've dropped their current career to become a chef. Eek! I mean, props to them for being so confident that they can take control over their lives and really push it, but I dunno if I could do it. The only thing I could see myself really giving up a solid job for is Survivor. I'd drop anything for that


Also, the show looks like it's about to get much better, with the tests and challenges. I hope the preview is reflective of the upcoming episode. Got me kinda excited

I won't be able to watch it tomorrow I have to wait till it is uploaded to youtube to watch it at home.

I am always day late. Currently watching BB12, Hells Kitchen, and Master Chef.

I don't want to veer from this topic but it kinda sucks cuz I have to stay aaway from these threads until I get to see the shows.
LOL I don't wanna know whast going on.

tomorrow night is going to be especially hard since Hells kitchen finale is on and two people who watch it will have seen it tomorrow. lol and I have to watch it on wednesday.

Notice how that bigger lady is always put "last" and her hope filled and pleading look just make you wanna be all like OMFG not her!!! she's too innocent don't get rid of her.

I bet you any money they continually do that to her through the show up until she gets eliminated.

No favorites so far, can't wait till they actually start doing the challenges.

I liked this episode a lot more than the last two. The auditions were a bad choice, imo.

Also, it's clear that each judge totally has a favorite. Ramsay for some reason really likes the super-energy guy (the whose face he got all up in like he wanted to suck face), Graham really likes the fat construction guy, and Venomface Joe really likes the young Brittany (?) girl.

We'll see if this sticks.



Also, I haaaate when Graham does the shitty, dramatic, "I'm gonna lead you on to believe that you're eliminated and even go so far as to let you down and then tell you that you made it" shit. He has a good, fun personality all on his own, but he doesn't let it through because the guys sitting on either side of him both have enormous dildos up their asses.
