Omegle and Chatroulette

So for those who don't know, Omegle and Chatroulette pairs you up with someone else randomly, and you just chat. Omegle is text only, and Chatroulette has additional video, so you can use your webcam as well. There's no personal info exchanged, and you can remain anonymous if you want to, and you can disconnect whenever. It sounds awesome and all, when are you going to get the chance to meet someone totally random?

There are those that abuse the system or just totally weird ones. Like seriously weird. Body parts, live sex, fetishes, among others. Then there are those that use programs to make a virtual webcam and upload gifs or pictures of shock value. And then of course, the other person could always screenshot, or do a video capture of what's going on.. so there's privacy thrown out the window.


Thoughts? Use it, or not?

I wouldn't use it if you run into that kind of stuff.

Id use it just to chat. If I encountered a weirdo, Id just quit the convo.

I tried that once, and I immediately encountered someone really weird and just never did it again.

Just had a few runs with Omegle (wouldn't dare use chatroulette).... you get a few trolls every now and then. And then you troll them back. Pissed a couple of people with That's Not My Name by The Tings Tings. Bloody annoying song, but awesome uses.

Gosh I hate the people that demand for asl. What? Just looking for "16 f US", I suppose?

But then you get a few people who are awesome as well. Had a chat with a total stranger from Toronto for 2 straight hours talking about whatever! And it's strangely addicting. yikes!

I like Omegle. Most of the conversations I've had are actually pretty good, but I know that streak will end soon enough.
