You can only pick one in the poll, but feel free to rank
Mine:
1. Batman Begins - believe it or not, I liked this one more than The Dark Knight. I was afraid to say it when the movie was still in theaters for fear I'd be murder by someone wearing a purple suit and green hair, but yeah, this is my favorite. 2. The Dark Knight - because I love the attitude of the new movies, I have to go with this one second. The Joker is astonishing, but I do wish the city was a little more like that of Batman Begins, and I wish
Spoiler:
that they hadn't killed Two-Face.
3. Batman Returns - I love the style of this movie, and I love this movie's version of Catwoman. 4. Batman (1989) - Just plain good. 5. Batman Forever - Jim Carrey is probably the only thing that went right with this movie. 6. Batman & Robin - Nipples.
And I haven't seen the 1966 version, but I'd bet it'd place either before the last two, or in between them.

The Batman movie with Adam West was astounding...case in point...
Holy shitballs Batman...you just blew up a shark kinda.
My favorite is Batman Returns though. I actually didn't like Batman Begins for a number of reasons, but I did like The Dark Knight, I thought it was just a good movie...like it was less of a good movie when Batman was running around because it wasn't a crime drama anymore for those minutes, HAHA!
Spoiler:
If it makes you feel better, they didn't kill Two Face. He wasn't dead at the end of the movie, at least, that wasn't Christopher Nolan's intention. He was only supposed to be unconscious and they were going to blame what happened to him and Gordon on Batman and stow Dent away in Arkham or something so no one would know. He was going to return in the 3rd movie, but that all had to do with The Joker and so Chrostopher Nolan has come out since then saying that since The Joker can't come back they're just going to make it cannon that Two Face died (it was actually a spot of contention that many people didn't understand until he explained it).

Huh, I didn't know that (about your spoiler-text).
Has Nolan made anymore comments about directing a third one? Last I heard (which wasn't recent by any means), he was one of the few smart people in Hollywood that recognized how hard it was to make a second sequel for superheroes, and he wasn't committing to anything.

I've heard a lot of things and I don't know what's real and also can't remember any of it, HAHA, I just try to ignore that kind of shit and then go "Oh, that happened!" It's just more fun that way.

I heard that he is working on a script but isn't 100% committed to actually making it.
anyways, my rankings:
1) The Dark Knight - for many reasons I feel that this movie stands above all other Batman movies. The only downfall for me was the last half of the movie, it felt a little forced.
2) Batman Returns - this will forever be my favorite of the last series of movies. Best Catwoman and the look and feel was awesome. Tim Burton did great with this one.
3) Batman Begins - I initially thought I would hate this because I don't like Christian Bale and think he is one of the worst Batman's ever (behind George Clooney) but this movie was really good, would have been better if they had a different actor playing Batman. The only reason this doesn't apply with Dark Knight is cause there is so much more to Dark Knight in my opinion.
4) Batman - Jack Nicholson's Joker was a good interpretation, though Heath Ledger definitely wins best Joker I think but both were good. This movie was good, and I liked the casting.
5) Batman Forever - I liked Chris O'Donnell as Robin (and I know I'm one of the few) I also liked Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face (a lot better than the other...) and Jim Carrey as The Riddler was good as well.
6) Batman and Robin - this is easily my least favorite of them all but I do like it to be completely honest. I love Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy. Not crazy about Mr. Freeze at all though but also liked Alicia Silverstone, though I feel they handled the character wrong, I liked her in it.
Those are my thoughts lol

A question: Am I the only one here who didn't really like Nicholson's Joker (even before Ledger's)?

I know some people who didn't like his Joker. Don't know about here though It's all good though because Nicholson is the type of actor where you either like him or you don't. He's similar in every role he does.

I think he did well enough in the part, because I think he's a good actor...I just think someone else could've done it better :\
Come to think of it, I don't know if I've seen much with him. Batman, The Shining...what else has he been in that I'd probably have seen?

All of those movies (with the exception of About Schmidt which just turned me off even though it's a good movie) are EASILY on my 100 greatest movies of all time list. Chinatown would be in the top 10. Incidentally you should also watch Bonnie & Clyde because that's number 1. A lot of people don't really get why it's my favorite but it's more than just the movie itself, I love the whole history surrounding how it was made and everything it stood for. And it's also just an amazing amazing movie, oversimplifies Bonnie & Clyde a lot but if they really told the story how it was the movie would have to be like 4 hours long and not as interesting.
Who would have thought we'd get on this topic in the Batman thread? I still need to make you that movie list too Doug. Hmmmmmm...I was just planning on making it Action movies...but if you've never seen any of THOSE movies...well...I feel like there's more work that needs to be done there

We can do it in genres, to make it more easily conceived and received.
