New Years Resolutions

Or for the coming semester (for those of us who still think in terms of semesters), or just goals for the new year! I have a bunch:

1. Actually have money left on my meal plan at the end of the semester. This semester I had blown through all $1545 of my plan by mid-November. I've never made it all the way through a semester with money left on my plan. I think that this semester (as painful as this will be), I'm going to meticulously plan out what things I can/can't buy on campus, what kinds of things I can/can't eat for which meals, and how often I can eat during the day. Sounds like a normal thing for most people, but when it comes to food, my Id rules.

2. Be a better student! Go to all of my classes (unless legitimately ill), turn in all of my papers on time, read all of my assigned novels in their entirety, and allot appropriate time to work on homework. This includes going to library more often and making greater efforts to study before the night of an exam. You'd think an English major would be good at all this, but I'm a terrible English major, soo...

3. Keep my room more organized. Pretty self-explanatory.

4. Be a better worker! Do a better job at work with administrative tasks. I'm terrible at turning in paperwork :\

5. GOAL: Run for the Programming Chair for our LGBT group on campus and WIN!

6. And of course, the obligatory: get in better shape! Actually, mine's not a normal one. I don't want to lose weight. I'm terrified of being skinny. I think I'd look so awkward. What I do want to do is become stronger. My arms are WEAK, and I'd like to work on my upper body strength. I asked for a set of those "Perfect Pushups" for Christmas and I really hope I get them, because they make pushups so much less uncomfortable

7. I have this book called "This Book Will Change Your Life". Each page has instructions for the day, and they're all different. Some of them are easy, some of them are hard, some strange, some kinda normal, some completely off the wall. I've had this book for probably four years now, and I haven't yet done it. This year, I want to do it Also, I have a Wreck This Journal that I've neglected to wreck. So I want to do that too



...hmm...what else. I'm sure there's more.

GET A MAN! That can be a goal for 2010, lol.


How about you guys?

1. LOSE WEIGHT I HATE BEING A FAT COW. I try to go the gym as often as I can. My year membership is up in May. I dont use it as much as I should. Im lazy, I wake up and play on facebook and dont feel like going to the gym as much as I should. Next summer I want to look HAWT when I go on vacation.

2. Apply for Financial Aid again and go back to school in Fall 2010. Yeah Yeah I know I just spent three years in college and got a 4.0..... but this time there are more things I want to learn, like how to make jewelry and learn meteorology.... Im looking forward to going back to school. Ive only been out since May and miss it very much.

3. Go somewhere I have never been for vacation...... Last year Boyd and I went to Corpus Christi, and that was fine and all because I had never vacationed there, but this time I want to go to perhaps.... Savanah (sp?) Georgia or... Panama City Beach Florida...... I want to go on a ROAD TRIP...not just take a 7 hour drive and still be in Texas

4. Break away from my silly facebook games. I am way too addicted to them and spend all my time on Facebook. I want to do other things during the day besides sit on my laptop all day.

I cant think of anything else I want to do..... hrmpf

When the new year comes around, we'll make a Weight Loss/Exercise thread and be each others' online workout buddies

I hate resolutions *cowers* but if I had one resolution that I truly want to happen in 2010 is moving to California and pursuing a career in my field. We'll see if THAT happens.

Just kidding. After all, the VAST majority of resolutions get tossed out the window a month in anyway, lol.

My New Years resolutions.... hmmmm, haven't really thought about it till now. But I'm the kinda guy who lives off of goals so I should set some. Here it goes...

1) Continue to lose weight/find my abs! Haha. In the past year I've lost about 60lbs so I'm quite a bit smaller at this point but I know I have some abs hidin under my last few layers of fat so I wanna find and tone those. I worked on a farm for the past 5 months so my arms are pretty big now but they could get bigger -- so I think it's more of a tone the body goal rather than weight loss, but I could always lose about 20 more lbs!

2) Manage my money!!! Finally got a start on my teaching career and makin decent cash, but will I be able to manage it and save up rather than piss it all away? Gonna start making budgets and get myself outta the red once and for all!!

3) Travel more!! I have the travel bug! Hit up Africa this year... wanna either go back there or hit up south America for some eco-adventure type stuff! But this all depends on my success with resolution #2.

Hmmmm... and there could probably be many more! But that's a good start.

1) I tried this last year, but failed. I stole the idea from Friends, lol. I'm a rather cautious person, so I want to try something new EVERY day.

2) Building off of that, I want to make a vlog about it each day.

3) Finish my book and get it either self-published, or start looking for an agent. Haven't decided yet. Let's see how well it turns out, lol.

4) Screw being single. I need a boy for once.

5) NOT be a total failure in school

6) Get to at least 20 completed tasks on my Bucket List (out of 100)

7) Buy that book Doug mentioned (This Book Will Change Your Life), because it sounds really cool and I wanna try that too! Slash, demands he posts every day what we have to do. lol

Hahahaha, damn. Maybe I can do that. We'll see.

And screw weight-loss resolutions! I think I'll resolve to get FATTER! Big is beautiful

Here are my New Years Resolutions

1 - Get a job in my field (have an unpaid internship which is great but wanna get paid for it now that I am graduated)

2 - Get my license finally (have waited all this time, never even tried, enough is enough)

3 - Lose Weight (I say this every year and gain weight it seems. This year I need to get in shape and lose this weight I have put on over the last few years and get back to my thin shelf that I was when I was younger)

4 - Savings (Need them for when I move to Florida in 2011, which might not happen but right now I'm thinking it will)

5 - Eat better (in line with the losing weight. With my heart problems and surgery on my heart last week I need to take care of myself a lot better)

6 - Write my book that I have been developing for years. I stopped working on it in 2007 sadly but want to get it done this year.

7 - Host my survivor game and have it be a huge success

8 - Get Organized (I can't find anything right now lol)

9 - Get a guy (seriously, tired of being single)

10 - Get my own apartment (living in my mom's house for the time being while get my finances in order)

Those are the main resolutions for me, hope I succeed in at least half of them

HOST A FREAKIN GAME ALREADY.



I don't know if any of you know this, but I tell Mandie at least twice a year that I want to host a game...and then I never do. I think I was even approved to host one before...and then I didn't.

So this year: HOST A GAME.

I'll have to plan the entire thing out before I am officially approved, just to prove to Mandie that I actually have a game to host, LOL

lol, well I'm planning my own game that I am going to spend some time tonight finishing up parts of it so to have applications up soon, that's the plan but I've slowed on it recently.

For 2010-
-maybe train for a marathon. Or at least half if I'm too busy. Maybe take up biking more. There's lots of great biking trails by my house. I don't like riding my bike on the street.
-get a better job- this shitty retail thing isn't really working out unless i get a very generous promotion... which i doubt will happen lol
-have a good summer. my last few summers have been ok, but not freaking great either. i might go to denver for the summer, so if i do that hopefully it will go good.
-nicer car. i love my car, it just kind of has a few too many miles on it as i'd like. so maybe i'll look into trading it in and paying a little more.

Kind of crazy that we're starting a new decade :/ BUT should be exciting

101 Things in 1001 Days

I started that a while back, it's been helping a lot...my end date is also coincidentally my birthday in 2011. I've done a good ratio of them...I also change them quite a bit when one becomes irrelevant in my life, which happens sometimes.

But this year my new year's resolution is going to be smacking Amanda whenever she says she's a fat cow. I hate liars, she's beautiful.

A lot of my resolutions are private BUT I did start a blog to keep track of my progress and to kind of make me stick to following through with my goals for next year!

That's kinda the same thing as my bucket list! I'm going to make a thread about things we all want to do before we die Slash in 1001
days.

My mom got this bucket thing, and she resolved to put two dollars in it every day until at least Dec. 1st so that by Christmas shopping seasons, she'll have somewhere around an extra $600 to blow on Christmas presents.

I thoroughly approve of this resolution.
