| I went. It was the first time, which was cool, but the only issue was that most of the bands I really wanted to see weren't at the Pittsburgh-ish location. HOWEVER, I did get to see Sum 41, who I've always wanted to see, and they played a sick throwback/hits set, so that was pretty bombtastic. I also saw Andrew WK, who is completely AWESOME live. He seems so real when he's playing, like he's actually having a good time. I only have one of his albums, and most of my exposure to him has been on that stupid Cartoon Network show Destroy Build Destroy. It was funny, because when I saw him on it, I was like, "Well, that's strange. What if kids come across his music?" But then I realized that most of his music, while about partying, isn't really that bad. The worst is alcohol references, so it might not be ideeeal, but it's not like...vulgar from what I can recall. What else... Oh, I kinda watched All-American Rejects, but their singer was EXTREMELY annoying, and I just couldn't handle it. He kept referring to the crowd as "bitches" and they sang this song called "Bonerville" which wasn't even remotely funny (and that's coming from a blink-182 fan...Family Reunion, anyone?), and he just took it too far over, and over, and over. He sucked, really. Then there was this crazy...rockabilly (?) band there...someone might have to clarify the genre for me, because I don't really know what "rockabilly" is...but they were called Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, and they were phenomenal. It was these three from Indiana: one big, fat dude with a sicktastic beard and a wifebeater tucked into his high dresspants held up by suspenders, this crazy-looking chick with a washboard and cymbal and red cowboy boots, and a drummer whose set consisted of two drums, two cymbals, and a PLASTIC BUCKET. They. Were. AWESOME. I listened to some of the stuff recorded, but it just doesn't capture how awesome they are; it's not raw enough. The big dude was super-cool too and the crowd wasn't very big, so we were getting really into it, and he noticed, so he was kinda playing to and with us. It was incredible. I hope I get to see them again and actually know their material. I bought one of their CDs and they signed it Uhhhh... Oh yeah, there was also a Wonka Candy tent, and I meant to get a picture with it...but they took it down before I had the chance. And it was like, 100 degrees. It was crazy. | |

| No, Hanson wasn't at the Bamboozle I went to. They were at Jersey. I went to Boston. Hanson sucks haha.
Anyway they had a bunch of new bands that I didn't really pay much attention to cuz during them my boyfriend and I were watching some contest thing.. but then we saw all the main bands.
They included: Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, LMFAO, Good Charlotte, Third Eye Blind, Simple Plan, & Forever The Sickest Kids.

| My friend was tricked into buying a Good Charlotte CD once...she never lived it down.
Note: That isn't a commentary of the band, just that she totally thought it was punk rock when she bought the CD and then we listened to it and instead it was Good Charlotte...and she never lived it down.

| Oh yeah I love Good Charlotte but it's definately not punk rock. It's pop-punk.. which is kinda an oxymoron but that is the term for it nowadays. And I'll be the first to admit I love it.. however, their new new stuff isn't doing much for me. I love the first couple CDs and most of the 3rd one, but not this new one as much.. | |
