Welcome Final 3 to your final challenge. It is quite simple in theory, but will require patience, determination, and tenacity.
Your goal is to create the longest chain of consecutive numbers by starting at 1 and going as far as you can--and then back again to 1. The catch is, instead of numbers, you'll be counting in Roman Numerals.
(And fitting considering we still have a Roman in the game)
Not familiar with Roman Numerals? You bettah school yourself, Son: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_numerals</A></A> (do not go past 5000. If you get that high just go backwards)
Start a new thread in your Journals entitled "Final 3 chain 1" and post the Roman Numeral I. Then AS A REPLY TO THAT POST, post the Roman Numeral II. Then as another reply, the number III, then IV, then V, then VI, etc. etc. etc. until you get to your highest number. At your highest number you then count backwards all the way back to one. A chain is not considered valid unless every number has been counted both forwards and backwards in the correct order.
If you mess up, its ok, you can start over, but you have to start over at 1. Remember, you cannot edit or delete posts in your journal, so if you mess up, you must start a new chain by beginning a new thread. Title each new thread as "chain 2" "chain 3" etc. You may attempt as many chains as you like before the deadline.
It does not matter how much time passes between posts either. An hour could pass, a day could pass, it doesn't matter. If you post 10 tonight, 10 tomorrow and 1000 on sunday thats fine, as long as each number is in its own post and the chain is ultimately valid.
For example say you post (these would obviously be posted as roman numerals but for ease of explaining the example)
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
This would be considered a valid chain and be worth 10 points, as 10 was the highest number you counted to.
For example say you post 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 1
Oops! You made it to 10 but you missed the last post, the number 2, and therefore your entire chain would be invalid. You will receive 0 points for this and will now have to start over at 1 again.
Obviously this would be frustrating to have happen after a significantly long chain, so, PAY ATTENTION and BE CAREFUL! As a suggestion, start by posting smaller chains, to ensure that you do at least that well. We will accept your longest successful chain as your final answer regardless of when you created it.
You have the entire weekend to create the longest successful chain you can. The winner will secure immunity, a place in the final 2 and cast the deciding vote for who should be sitting next to them. If you want to be sure its you in the finals, win this challenge.

| You can post as much as you want, your longest chain will be considered your final count. You can count as high as you want but don't go past 5000 | |

If you count to 2000, you would get 2000 points ... You dont get 10 points for every post, ..... your total amount of points will be however high you count to and then back down again. | |

it is stated here in the challenge Not to go past 5000. It says if you get that high, start to go backwards. It also states here that you must start a new thread in your journal titled Final 3 Chain 1 ... and then post the roman numeral 1. Then it says you have to POST A REPLY TO THAT POST, and then another reply etc. You can NOT do it in one post. You are to post... over and over again.... | |
