The Karate Kid

I think I'm gonna watch the original tonight. Good idea/bad idea?

I've never really been interested, but the moment I saw that they made a remake, I felt like I needed to jump on the "Oh god, did they really do that? I remember the old one, and this looks terrible..." train.

Karate Kid is SO worth it.

I have no interest in the new one...not because of any devotion to the old one....just because....I mean....have you SEEN the trailer to this movie? It looks God awful entirely based on it's own merits.

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT JACKIE CHAN AND WILL SMITH'S KID THAT I SOMETIMES MISTAKE FOR A GIRL.

HOW CAN YOU LOSE?

I mean, it's not like they're gonna show the pedastry scenes...so that's a plus.

The trailer makes me shit myself.

I am so mad about this movie, it looks horrible and the cast is horrible. I hate Jackie Chan and Will Smith's son is way too young for The Karate Kid I think. I really hope this movie fails and it is the last we hear about it, like with Land Of The Lost last year

The original is amazing and the remake will be amazing. Shut up all of you

Finished watching the first one tonight, and I really liked it Very pleasantly surprised; I think because I never really knew that these were movies that people genuinely liked. I thought they were movies that were so ridiculous that people liked em when they came out, stopped liking them, and then decided to like them again for comedic value.

But I don't think that's the case, since...ya know...I just watched it and liked it...or something.

The sequels are both on Netflix too, so I'll probably watch those sometime.

The sequels are a little ridic like you thought the first would be, but I agree that the first is an actual worthwhile movie for viewing, not just on basis of nostalgia or kitsch or something.
